My unpainted collection:

Why do I keep buying Rackham, Reaper and GW models!!! Just about to put an order in for Kabuki and Puppet Wars. My current queue consists of Everblight box set, cockatrice, two Reaper Sophie models, Choas Daemon and a Reaper Tunnel monster.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Yup, you're an addict.

Rest assured that my collection of unpainted (all assembled though ) models is larger and takes up an annoying amount of room.

2 solutions:

1/. sell it all and buy a mansion and a rehab centre

2/. Uncrate it and assemble/paint it all

Kill or cure

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts

Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so

It's quite possible you have an addiction. As do I. But don't worry-this site happens to be the PCA (plastic crack anonymous). You're among peers. I have a ton of unpainted too, having just bought a bunch of Chaos Marines and an 80 dollar box of Mantic Undead.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I buy my GW stuff second hand these days, but I can almost never escape my FLGS without picking up a new Reaper figure. I don't game with them, but I just love the look of many of their figures, and actually enjoy painting them more than I do painting any army.

I'm sorry to inform you, sir, that you have the disease known as geexinus maxxinsius.

It has a 100% mortality rate. Unfortunately, everyone who's ever had it has passed away from old age, so we haven't been able to determine what the true cause of death would have been.

I'm not a serious as you but I also feel the plague of "MUST HAVE MORE MINIATURES"

Although painting is not the issue for, its actually putting them together! I guess I have wasted too much money on buying things I never get around to. Very aggravating to see only a few models put together from an Ogre Battalion and a Chaos Armored Strike Force that I bought years ago.

Easy comes, easy goes

You don't have an addiction, as much as you have a desire to show off what you obviously consider a large collection.

This is directly comparable to people post about how much they win, under the guise of asking for help to improve their gaming group.

Yes, you have a nice collection. Now go back to sleep.

Ahhh, this is what I love about dakka. Post something for fun and a bit of a joke and to poke fun at once's self and then someone has a total humor failure. thhrrrbbt you miserable git. Anyhoo, reason posting it is I actually cleaned my model room out. This is what it my room looked like part way through cleaning it and gathering all my crap from all over the house into one place. What you are looking in my first post is after collecting all my crap into one place. I was actually shocked when I got all my blisters together n one place

P.s not going to sleep, drinking some nice wine which helps me tolerate debbie downer people.

You need to sign the Pledge of Temperance, Aerethan.

No more purchases!
Never mind how shiny they are Mr. Magpie!

I have 200 scale model kts as well as a load of Minis I will never getting around to finishing.
At my rate of building will take me to AD40,000 to build what I have.
So made a New Year's Resolution not to buy anymore. Am being strong and so far this year have bought very little in the way of minis and only 1 small airfix kit.

I tried that too, my pledge was to paint more than I buy. So far, so good. But the heaps aint getting any smaller.

The problem with this stuff is that so much of it is limited-production that if you don't buy it when you see it you may not get another chance.

I have no issues with alcohol or tobacco. I will admit to being a rather angry old man, even at my young age. My glass isn't half full, it's empty because I threw the glass at someone who deserved it.

Thank you fullheadofhair your somewhat more serious condition makes me feel a helll of allot better about mine.

I recently tried a back log clearing process (my aim to build and paint the 3 FoW armies I have on the shelf) and it was going well until I go disttracted by the Pimp my Scorcerer comp and a boxset of Heroes DVDs. Must get back on that wagon.

Meh... Small fry.

Last count was 1200 28mm alone waiting to be painted, not too mention 120 20mm resin tanks.

Not even gonna count the other scales and kits... And I know people with far bigger amounts than me! My mate has over 300 plastic kits awaiting building...

Still, as everyone knows, wargamers live aslong as they have unpainted metal, so by my reasoning, Im gonna live till Im about 150.

It's not that large.

I genuinely worry about what to do with all the models in this house once my parents die. Might sound morbid but what can I do? Most will probably get given away come that time. I have reasonable collection and have resolved myself to getting rid of a fair bit, but what my parents have dwarfs my collection.

I know all these models won't all get made, there's 30 years worth of buying faster than you can build in this place. The attic is full of plastic kits (couple thousand at a rough estimation), the old boiler room is full of kits and tins chock full of metal figures, and half the rooms in the house look like those photos in the OP, fortunately the kitchen and bathroom are model-free. It's insane.

Yes you have an addiction and from the looks of it you still need some catching up to do before you reach my level of disease

Your next step is to strip down the content of each box set ( because the boxes alone take lots of space) and start to pile up everything in little bags inside a box

You know the good thing about this? Just yesterday I discovered 3 blisters of malifaux and dont recall ever getting those

It's always like Christmas when that happens, isn't it? My best "find" was roughly 70 Orks still on sprue that I had no idea I had.

I know what you mean Snurl.
And curse you special offers and ebay!
Doesn't help that I keep getting ideas and start sculpting figures in GS!

You should see some of the stashes of scale model kits some folks have. It's like there is a model shop in the attic.
