The barrels switch is a good idea , i think it will look cool. Nice work on those melta boys and your new sig!

If you look reallly close on my Marauder Destroyer, on the engine cowls I used little NO STEP decals a-la-GI Joe

Pretty sure the "NO STEP" is a-la Real Life Aircraft (Though I do think it's the little things like NO STEP that really make a model great!)

Looks like Vostroyans will benefit from this kind of barrel swap more than any other army due to their baroque theme.

For the highlight by drybrush over whole model - I'm no expert on painting but I saw this kind of thing done several times and I wont recommend it, as drybrush place paint in a form of thin dust-like layer, very fragile to interference making it hard to paint anything above. And model then looks dusty.
Seeing the way you paint I'm sure you are aware of this but just in case..

I need to get at least one Valk, then i will have the ability to call it a "Hind" and use it with designation MiL-280 as we are in the 41st millenium for 40k, and keeping with my theme.

valks are so much fun to build/paint plus a very nice space for freehand work

So, herein lies the question. How the heck should I paint this thing?

Why not do the Valk in the same colour scheme as the tanks? It would tie in nicely with your army. Assuming that the vehicles were pre-painted en masse aboard some Imperial Navy Troop Carrier for some specific mission it would stand to reason that the Valks would probably get painted at the same time in the same camouflage scheme. After they were finished then the flight crew and groundcrew (weapons specialists, mechanics etc who all come under the auspices of the Adeptus Mechanicum but will be imbued, doubtless, with the Vostroyan spirit and ethos) would probably add to the colour scheme, for instance brass trim and fittings to weapons, aquillas etc as well as warning notices and markings all to appease the Machine Spirit of the vehicles.
Pardon the long explanation but I couldn't bring myself to say "paint them the same colour scheme as the tanks, it would look cool!"

no, drybrushing is but the first step... i thought drybrush first as a form of highlighting and then refill up to a point the black armor with blackness^^ and you have the highlights still...i know it is difficult to describe but i thi8nk this way you could get away with it as you have a highlight mathcing color aver all the fatigues ...so kind of blending the armor to the cloth...

I repainted mine at least 3 times, I couldn't get the camo right. I finally decided on just straight green with the "teef" on the nose.

with the speed a valk should be moving i think a camo is not needed... more like flat tones and then you are done...scary pics of course build up morale or iduce fear^^

The camo pattern would only be useful to conceal the outline from the air when parked.

but i guess thats when camo netting comes in...

camo on valks really only works if you can get it perfect, if it just looks like blobs of green in an attemt to camo, it dosent work that well

For my Valk i used the main colour as my tanks ? mayby you could work the same magic of painting you have done before and try it on the Vandetta??? or just do one of the paint schemes of the elysian troopers vandettas ?? and make all those inverted rivets the other way around ?
