Thanks, much appreciated!

Now that the Chimera is done, it's time to finish some wip minis that have been on the desk too long.

Next on the agenda, I've got to suck it up and finish that damned Librarian

I'm trying to justify ordering the new Judge Dredd mini game from Warlord Games, but the full set is $360 USD. I love Dredd and the minis look great, but damn that's a lot of money

Anyways, here is some of my favorite stuff I've painted in 2019. This has been my most productive year for hobby stuff, by far.

I'm really pleased with how the Chimera turned out, definitely an improvement over the Rhino I painted (pictured below the Chimera for comparison) earlier this year. (Lots more photos of the Chimera at the bottom of page 13)

I'm working on the Red Hunters Librarian again, I'll post a wip pic after I make some more progress on him. After he is done, I just have the Captain left to do to completely finish the Red Hunters squad.

All of the new cherub designs GW announced are awesome. Here's a link: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/10/28/battle-sister-bulletin-part-19-cherubs/

I've always loved the creepy little things, it makes me want a full SOB army even more now

A quick update on my wip Red Hunters Librarian

The Skitarii I added to my Inquisitors crusade force just got their cohort leader. I'm going to do a hand and weapon swap to replace a typical tech-priest style axe with some bits from a Sisters of Battle Canoness. Of course this means I'll have to file off a bunch of fleur-de-lis

Love that purple, what's your recipe? I always struggle with getting a strong tone, it always goes grey or pink.

The last couple of pages have run the gambit of all those characterful models I love but have never got round to painting. Great work. Kudos!

Thanks! Quite a few of them I picked up years ago when I first started planning to do an Inquisition army. I'm really happy to have finally gotten to this project, It's been a fun year of painting.

Thanks Paradigm! It gives me trouble too, to be honest this was me returning to basics. I based with Nagggaroth Night, shaded with Nuln Oil, and then dry brushed a highlight of Xereus Purple and then a brighter highlight with Genestealer Purple. It still wasn't bright enough so I repeated both dry brushing steps and tried to blend it by dry brushing the transitions a bit.

Here's an updated look at my Sisters of Silence test mini, very much still wip..

Update:

The first of my Sisters of Silence is finished and I'm looking forward to painting the rest of them. I'll stick to this scheme but I think I'll give their hair color a bit of variety.

Thanks Paradigm, I was torn between doing a normal steel sword and doing a power sword. Obviously I decided on the power sword but I wanted to try something different rather than my usual way (mostly because my usual way looks pretty crap I don't have the patience for all those smooth layers and gradient building) and anyways, I struck upon this because it just sort of suited the blade I thought. Glad you like it!

Lots of very cool stuff. The Sister is great. Love the sword amd the mud on the hem of her cloak. Quasi is a very characterful model. The servitor is awesome and following it up with two classic preachers is just icing on the cake.

Thanks! Faces have always been a struggle for me, so I really appreciate you saying that

Thanks Pomander, I foresee many long years of righteous service for this paragon of piety.

The other fanatic is still early wip, I think it was a good idea to paint them at the same time but at a certain point it was easier (and more fun) to shift all of my attention to the one mini. I'll hopefully post another wip picture of the remaining fanatic soon.

That model has always been a stand-out in the range and for me really encapsulates a lot of the "40K" feel. Great job on an iconic model.
