S75 Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Vallejo Air Chrome for the silvers. If I use any airbrush for basecoats, Nuln Oil or Black Oil Paints to help blackline
VMC US Olive Drab, S75 Thar Brown, Mojave White, White Sands for the white
GW Nihilakh Oxide, White for the blue bits.

Gomez wrote:Everything looks awesome - but I don't have the words to explain how incredible that junkforce is. I have no idea what game it'll be used in or what GW army it's a proxy for, but I just adore how everything fits together in such a weird way. For example, the fact that the art design of the graffiti on the biggest ship matches the bots is a great touch, and using the BB halflings gives the whole group a ton of character. Can't wait to see them painted up.

Thank you so much! They're my counts-as Kharadron Overlords for Age of Sigmar.

Necrons look great, but I can't wait to see Junkforce completed ... easily one of my favourite WH projects to emerge from Dakka lately!

Look at all that Junkforce O_O

Your Necrons are hands down my favorite Eevil GW Robots army out there, been very cool to see you return to it with the new minis, glowy blue blades and all. Pity about command barge bot not making the cut most times, but still nice to finish up a lingering backlog mini.

Cheers! I am thoroughly enjoying the project, and both Necrons and Junkforce allow me to flex completely unique armies in both games

Yuuusss my silver robit bois collection is getting quite large now! Although I think in the next pass, I need to consider adding more Tomb Blades to the mix!

The Command Barge actually makes the cut almost all the time; he's probably the best HQ to take as a Noble to unlock protocols, that's durable as a Warlord, and contributes, unlike Overlords and Lords who are just ... buff bots. It's the Nightbringer that actually doesn't make the cut anymore.

Whoop, reading fail on my part - to my eyes the command barge is the way forward, I start my own tinkering with one almost always. Speaking of C'tan that aren't tiny and metal / resin: Void Dragon in the plans? Or sneaky DV8 conversion for it??

Thanks man! Yea I'm super stoked to start working on it! Although January is definitely a "I just want to build" month, outside of the piece I'm going to do for the Dakka challenge (which will also mostly be just building, since it's going to be a tiny piece!)

Naw, if I have the points for a C'tan, it's going to be Nightbringer or Deceiver. I think both of those are just better than the Void Dragon. But honestly none of my lists would fit one in; I feel like they're a trap unit anyways. Too many points in a single model that's actually surprisingly easy to take down, and whose damage is far too swingy. Yea if the Nightbringer hits something, he's probably going to delete it. Just don't flub the damage rolls (especially against multi-wound units, and not a single target). And 350 points buys you a LOT of extra stuff!

That halfling airship is the coolest thing I´ve seen so far this year, love the colors. Can´t wait for the expansion of the army to be painted.

Your necrons are also amazing, great color scheme, and that huge crawler is ace!

This is simply amazing. It makes me want to rush and buy one so I can paint it and feel miserable about not being able to match that level.

The junkship is amazing too.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Those are some good looking forces. Bummer you don't enjoy your boneybois but that just lets you pivot to something else.

Thank you! I'm really stoked to get started on my Junkforce, but I'm also going thru a huge terrain-building binge right now too, so the Junkforce will have to wait a little longer!

Naw don't feel bad! It's an awesome model to own regardless and it's not awful to paint, if you don't mind painting flesh!

Yea, it's a real shame; poor investment on my part and the entire time I was painting them, I knew in my heart of hearts I would never enjoy playing the army. Made it hard to trudge through, especially the 20 Kavalos.

LOL! I mean I've been collecting this army for a few years now, and once I paint Szerakh in a few months, it'll bump to 7500 and probably sit there for another couple of years!

Are you planing on getting a void dragon for your crons ?

How many hours a day on average do you get hobbying ? The output is impressive.

I am not. Not a huge fan of the model, and I don't really bring a C'tan in my lists anyways.

It really depends. Pre-COVID when I was working, I'd probably get 3-4 hours of hobbying a night (my girlfriend is in university, so I have a lot of free time because she's busy with schoolwork). Now that I'm currently job hunting, I sometimes get like 10-12 hours of hobbying a day. And sometimes I get distracted by video games or errands and get almost nothing done. But I always try to average at least an hour or two each day.
