Not a massive shock. The show lasted a season more than many of us thought it would.

But the actual bad news is this:

Co-showrunner and executive producer Keto Shimizu confirmed the news on Twitter Friday evening, writing: “Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no Season 8 of #LegendsOfTomorrow. We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew and writers have contributed to the little show that could.”

Based on the characters of DC Comics, “Legends of Tomorrow” was set in the Arrowverse and featured characters from “Arrow” and “The Flash.” It first premiered in January 2016. The Season 7 finale — which now marks the end of the series — aired on March 2.

So that leaves only Naomi and Superman & Lois now, right? Naomi has been mediocre, sharing little with the comic version. I’ve been enjoying their Superman though.

And The Flash. That's been renewed for a 9th season. And Stargirl. Season 3 of that can't be far off.

Never watched Naomi. Is it even connected?

Ah, duh, Flash. Checked out on that one this season but I do rather like Stargirl as well.

Naomi Could be connected, but right now it isn’t. So far it seems to be established that this is a very mundane universe with no natural aliens or super powers. All the aliens (and there’s seems to be a lot of them actually…) and the protagonist are from other universe/s in the Multiverse. Superman has the Briefest of cameos in the very beginning, and it’s the Arrowverse actor, but there’s no dialogue or anything to establish if he’s actually the same one from Superman & Lois, and nothing else yet ties them together either.

Maybe. The first season premiered in May of 2020 while the second season premiered in August of 2021.

A quick Google search comes up with November 2nd of this year as the date for season three.

It wasn't good with Ruby Rose & somehow got ever worse....

Just checking out this thread. I was totally into Arrow seasons 1-2, Supergirl season1, and the Flash season 1. I also caught the occassional LoT episode.

Honestly, I think many of these shows lasted at least a season too long. Supergirl should have been canned two seasons earlier, and Batwoman was hot garbage out the gate. I tried to give Black Lightning a chance as he was a favorite of mine in the comics, and actually liked aspects of the show, but certain things about it were a bit on the nose, so to speak.

Speaking of Black Lightning, that's canceled too, right?

Black Lightning finished last year. Unlike these two, it got to go out its own terms (almost, one of the main cast leaving 6 episodes in threw a spanner in the works somewhat).

I maintain that Legends of Tomorrow, while left hanging, also had the most appropriate ending for the show.

Although I would have loved to see Donald Faison get to shine a bit more.

I actually haven’t bothered to watch the two most recent episodes on account of said mediocracy so I’m not really surprised. Glad they kept Superman.

Glad they're getting a small group of episodes to wrap everything up. If only the same thing had happened with Legends.

I guess there's no hope for what seemed to be a backdoor pilot for Infinity, Inc. in the last two episodes either.

I do. Gunn clearly has no problem making a TV show with movie characters. Something WB has been incredibly hesitant to do for the most part. Batman could never show up in Arrow because of it. Ted Cord was replaced with Ray Palmer because they were "working" on a Blue Beetle and Booster Gold movie.

I don’t wanna say it’s because of that simply because they’ve already been long in the process of canceling all the CW shows. Likely more a “happy” coincidence/bonus for Gunn.

It’s not a universe I’ve really watched, as where I can watch it in the U.K. seems to be all over the shop.

I did watch some early Green Arrow, and that was alright. I think I also watched some Stargirl, but memory of that is blended with The Boys.

Also of note is Stargirl is only tangentially part of the Arrowverse. They’re on a separate Earth from the main shows, and I don’t think have ever directly crossed over. I believe just a little shot shown when they were showing a montage of the multiverse being recreated or something. I think they even included the Titans show in that?
