Tracker says my own rapid delivery is scheduled for tonight at 6, but that seems to me to be after normal working hours for FedEx, so probably really Monday.

Freyr the Stormbreaker is 3 sprues as it has the clear sprue for the lightning effects so sprue count doesn’t appear to be a factor in the price or that one would definitely cost more.

Marduk also has three sprues. Cost per sprue is not a relevance frankly. Plastic is very cheap and the added sprue adds pennies to the manufacturing cost post tooling.

It makes much sense to have a single price for all dragons once tooling is accounted and budgeted for.

Mine was due yesterday but only arrived in country at 3PM so I knew it would take another day. FedEx have never delivered for me on the expected delivery date.

I don't like the window arrangement on the cottage, there are too many.

I would much rather had one window on the long wall and have the other half blank.

It does tie in better with dungeons than I hoped and I have added some cottage sets to my order (but wont rapid delivery it).

However I still massively prefer other solutions for fantasy homes. I will not part with my cheap Tabletop Workshop houses for Archon houses, even though Archon boxes are costed as twice as much, and they are better scaled for 28mm heroic I must admit..

Question for those of you who backed the first campaign.

With the new retail scifi kits, I'm looking at the accessory sprues- were those bits originally separated from the fantasy ones? Or were they intermingled with the fantasy pieces?

I feel like in D&L 2 both types of scatter terrain were mixed together.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

For 1 they kept the themes separate other than the stairs which share a sprue.

For 2 there is some mixing but the sprues are mostly one theme or the other I guess by the end they just fit whatever was left wherever they had space.

Here’s the fantasy sprues from 1 and the shared stairs (not my picture taken from google as mine are long since clipped out)

The pillars are another example of where they cast a whole sprue and bin the rest you can buy 4 pillars separately for €10 in the KS - they just clip 4 from the full sprue and bag them.

Similar thing with the Eternal Cathedral Apse box. There are eight wall panels of which you use five to make the apse. Looks like a second apse combined with the three left over pieces will net three apses.

The extra dragon sprue is quite useful, you get a base, bits and hard lightning which you can use. It a luxury to get your lightning bolts in clear blue plastic, they need some osrt of paint anyway. Archon could have just given us a clear flight stand and everything would be ok.

As for Eternal Cathedral Apse I did buy more. I didnt make a second apse but built a better nave, the wall panels were just better than the core ones. Its not a cathedral anyway but 'cities of death' and while I did want and got some 40K urban terrain, I also wanted a Cathedral set so I could make a fantasy temple. I found the apse had the parts I needed in the quantity I wanted, and never knew until I had the left over bits from building one apse.

@Orlanth (or others)

What do you think is the best use case for the tiles if they don't make satisfactory houses, etc.? Only focus on dungeon or subterranean structures?

Should I just buy a bunch of streets? I primarily backed this for the stretch goals and townsfolk...

I'm thinking I maybe just do Core dungeon, sewers and tower...

Does anyone know if we are still able to late pledge for the dragons, or if we have to buy via Archon’s shop now?

I’m regretting not getting the dragon bundle!

Looks like the figs are quite small. Probably mesh well with Deep Cuts, but GW not so much.

When does this pledge manager close? I'm very dense and can't seem to find it, even though I'm sure it's prominently listed somewhere on the Kickstarter page.

So the PM closes December 2021 and, no, you're not dense.

Thank you! That helps me rest a little easier. I need to carve out an afternoon to design my pledge using that app so I can close it up and be done with it until shipping!

The bases are 30mm right? They seem decent sized if so (32/35mm).

They only do two base sizes 25mm and 50mm so Kobolds are on 25s and human size minis are around 32mm in height from the one figure I had for comparison they seem to be a bit taller but slighter and less heroic in proportion.

Archon posted this pic for comparison

I want another try at the Kazumi temple. I went Cathedral on the original KS but the temple has grown on me though it's always OOS.

Dang, they really are pretty small. More Perry sized. If the GW skeleton was standing up straight it would tower over the Archon humans.

That definitely changes my plans. No second pledge for me, and I regret the first one now...

Kazumi is Rampart rather than D&L there’s another Rampart KS in October so you should be able to order then keep an eye on the Rampart thread.

It does I guess it’s only intended to be modelled in the closed position but what about the rear view? Bit of an oversight but it’s tooled now so that’s it I guess.

i like the ghostie dragon, and the lava room looks good even if i wouldn't use it enough to get it

(hope the clear plastic is a bit more robust now, they said they were playing with the formula)

A couple of weeks back my wife and I saw a bunch of the D&L 3 pieces at the Archon Studio stall at Spiel ’21 in Essen.

https://thegrumpygnome.home.blog/2021/10/28/spiele-21-in-essen/

The minis looked smaller than I originally expected but also more sharply sculpted. It was great seeing things in person. The giant was particularly cool.

All bases should be textured. If you don't like them, you can cover it, but it should be a default.
