Some of it has to be the backup with how crazy the world is, but I hope they're not losing their momentum.

With how long ago Scylla and that other Khorne star player were revealed i'd imagine that team was meant to come out early in the year. For all we know they have a backlog of finished BB material that could go on for months. So I think they're still playing catchup.

I mean all that Aeronautica Imperialis stuff that was shown still isn't out yet, and there was a lot of it. I don't think they're losing momentum in terms of having stuff to put out, moreso they are limited by production capabilities.

40k will be Black Templar and likely a teaser for the rumored GSC v Custodes box set (where the only new models will be a Custodes 'lieutenant' and a GSC 'saboteur').

Necromunda will be whatever's next for them, maybe a teaser of one of the new gangs.

Warcry is the one that surprises me the most, but honestly I'm just expecting more Stormcast v Kruleboy junk.

According to my local GW manager, a lot of the production is slowed down by more covid precautions. It's a GW store and half the product is just not on the shelves. Even the paint rack is looking mighty sparse.

An interesting thing to note is that the Ork Codex was printed in the USA. Maybe a nod to an attempt to get paper made elsewhere than China...

I was speaking to someone today who works in import/ export. They were saying that there is currently a world wide shortage of shipping containers. It's going to be years before this is all sorted out.

Yeah, that's probably a safe bet. Eventually, shipping containers might become so expensive that it's cheaper to load shipping containers up with raw materials to make more shipping containers to ship back to where they make shipping containers.

I'm guessing they were supposed to reveal the KT stuff in this last seminar, but it looked like the community social media team released pictures of the Sister's before a community article was out, and thus they put the article out early.

Even if that was the case though, an hour and a half seminar for two new products is pretty......lame to say the least. I would have hate to have been there in person.

I'm not sure what you were expecting for a BB release other than a team... I'm sure a new edition wasn't on the cards.

As for the previews so far-that's new models for one entire BB team, one entire kill team and two Underworlds teams (as part of a new edition box set), plus what I think we're all now confidently saying is an upgrade sprue for Tau. Without checking the exact numbers that's 30 ish entirely new sculpts. Sure, you might not be interested in them (I'm not either) but they're all great models (except the Tau heads).

I don't want to derail things but could you briefly explain what you were reasonably expecting that would have made it impressive?

Best way to look at it is that GW previews are like regular previews, only in slow motion. We get to see a lot of stuff, but it may take them several individual previews to get through all of it.

Yeah, GW previews and open days have always been lacklustre. From a dribble of previews to nothing at all in some cases. Forgeworld on the other hand were amazing. Oh, how I miss Forgeworld previews...

In recent times they've been more willing to show a few items on their preview days. It is a bit watered down by the fact they have several systems these days, when an announcement comes out for a system you don't collect it's easy for it to feel like there's been no announcement at all.

It does seem like they want to both preview some long term things whilst at the same time having most of their range be a shock and awe out of the blue release.

I'm still waiting on that Aeronautica Imperialis set they announced 6 months ago at the last big preview event thing of which I've forgotten the name.

Which would be fair if we hadn't already seen the other previewed kits for other systems and we've got a list of game systems that GW have said they're going to preview more kits for at Gen Con. Togusa's statement that the BB release was "One lousy team for a game that isn't the most popular product they make" seemed overly dismissive and I'm genuinely interested what they'd hoped to see. We've got 2 more days of previews so hopefully the disappointment will pass.

It is kinda hilarious/sad. Unfortunately I don’t think we will get new berserkers until we get plastic daemon prince angron, and as for when the next 2 big daemon primarchs get models, could be any time in the next 5 or even 10 years.

It's still a really dissapointing reveal - i mean, it's barely a reveal. One kit?

They look usable (anbd very cool) in both AOS and 40k with minmal conversions? Plus if its a BB plastic team from GW - pretty cheap in comparison.

What I have heard/read is that nearly all problems related to Brexit, are officially referred as "because of Covid/Lockdowns"

To be fair a lot of Brexit issues ARE because of covid as well. Having less staff in offices; loading and warehouse coupled with things like one-way systems and socially distanced working all mean that everything moves and works slower. At the same time a lack of going out in GW's core target market means that buying went way up so demand goes up and production goes down; then you add increased steps to import and export all made slower by the same issues.

Lockdowns can still happen, its just also used as a term to mean a block of people got a "stay at home" order because someone tested positive and the track and trace pinged them. So that could still impact GW even if they are using their staff in fully separate shifts. Not to mention time lost cleaning down work and machine stations between shifts etc...

Not many poses though. That's the problem with the Saurus, yes you can convert Saurus Warriors from BB Saurus, but you only get 3 in a box making poses limited and the price high.

But if you want 40k Berzerkers that look decent, your best option is probably the Blood Warriors from AoS, just get your hands on a few bolt pistols and they'd make decent Berzerkers.

I had a tip a while back that the next Aeronautica Imperialis release would be in October or November. I think there’s a gap in the release schedule next month actually.

There are 2 reasons there was nothing for Aeronautica at this preview. 1 – We have already seen what is coming next, and 2 - The release is not far away at all really.

Having said that, I think most people accept that due to a combination of various factors GW is behind this year with releases, as in they wanted to release more but it just hasn’t been possible. And having said that I really hope they do get to release it within the next 2 months without any further setbacks.
