Wonderful work on the Germans Sigur. Wow. Goes to show what a thoughtful paint job can do for relatively simple models. What are you using for your leafy shrubbery? "Sigur the Shrubber"

Slooooooowly but surely I'm getting the guns ready for painting.

Pak40, Pak38 (look at how small it is compared to the pak40. I never knew that the Pak40 was such a monster), leIG18 (a really, really interesting weapon)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I noticed that the Perrys pak38 comes without turn-y wheels for adjusting elevation and traverse on the gun. Not sure if that's by design, because I got it second hand (first time around, the glorious gentleman who sent the gun and two crewfigures for just the postage cost, didn't include the one central part, which is why work on all my guns is delayed by a few days. Friction!).

According to the website it comes with a crewman sighting/aiming the gun, which is a great thing. We don't get enough crew figures actually aiming an AT gun. Well, he wasn't included in the parcel I got, so there's nothing to cover up the lack of turny wheels, so I added them to a "good enough" extent. Just so I can be smug and "proper" about it without putting much work in, which is my favourite sort of job.

Nice work on the group of pointy-ears, Siggy - reckon you'll get to paint any of a true sci-fi race when they get released later this year?

@Reaper Man 202: Thanks very much!

@Dysartes: I certainly hope so. But I don't know, it's not up to me, I suppose. I do like what we saw of them so far though, I have to say.

@muette: Cheers, hope the final photos don't disappoint!

Hope ye like'em! Finally got to use the Shrine Luminor for making the background of an elven warband look nicer. How was the weekend? Everything going fine?
Me, I met with friends on Saturday and we played Wizard and Uno. Really casual stuff, and as usual I got obliterated in Wizard. Worse than usual. Sunday I met with Col.Bourne again for the 4th game in our Chain of Command campaign. Battle Report forthcoming.

So that's it for now. Enjoy.

@Gitsplitta: Thanks very much! It's a pretty cool figure. Rather more buff than previous ones, but that's GW for ya. Otherwise, they didn't mess with the design much, which certainly is a plus.

@bbb: Thanks, much appreciated!

Heyhey, finally we got to go on with our "29, Let's Go!" campaign. Game#4, once more the Probe at La Cambe!

Heyhey, here I am again. Painting lots of 40k things again lately (the past 2 years or so. Certainly this year.), which is rather lovely. Speaking of lovely, here's a WIP shot of some more Apostles of Contagion!

full size image: https://i.imgur.com/jFOBwEc.jpg

These sculpts. I have to say that GW really are consistently good with their chaos figures. And I'm not shy about complaining about GW, as you may know. But these are really nice. I mean a ton of work to paint because somehow they managed to make every single one look really different. Within this group here there's two figures which are alike, and it's two of the ones with the big scythes.

Also, look at that boss type in the middle. Look at that face. He's having the best time. Possibly the only person (Orks aside) in 40k having a good time.

That's a fantastic looking bunch. I see what you mean about the sculpts... they really do look like a mob of individuals. Tremendous paint jobs as always.

Right, back to Warhammer40k, because that's what we always return to in the end, right?

Here's some more WIP Nurgle things:

First time I'm painting a knight. Third time I'm painting that plastic DP, second time I'm painting that FW Nurgle-DP. I'm having lots of fun with colours on this army. One word on those FW drones in the first picture - eversince their release (probably 10 years ago as well; don't dare to check) I really liked those. Not only the first models to feature this design for Nurgle demonic machines IIRC, but also all that mix of surfaces. The rusting/decomposing metal parts with the interesting texture combined with all the organic bits... really cool.

Yes, I put in some extra hours yesterday to get it done for your birthday. Seemed like good timing. The drones came out great, and I really like how you built them all with a little variety.

It's a bunch of Zephyrim (that's Seraphim, but instead of two boltpistols they got power sword and a bolt pistol. And they got spikes on their jump packs) and the great/absurd model "Triumph of Saint Katherine".

Hope you like them!

I love the colors you've chose for the Nurgle army. Not the usual brown and green... but perfectly suited to the subject matter.
