If an enemy psyker attepts to target a model with the aegis special rule he suffers a -1 penalty to his leadership for the purposes of his psychic test. A psychic power that does not specifically target a unit with the aegis special rule does not suffer this penalty, even if the unit with the aegis special rule is affected by the psychic power.

What powers does the aegis not affect? Would IG weaken resolve not be affected by aegis as it isnt a shooting attack?

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

It effects the unit, it would be affected by Aegis.

Examples of powers NOT effected by Aegis would be things like, Veil of Tears, Guide, Gate, Quicksilver, stuff like that....

When you cast a power AT the unit with Aegis...it's going to go off, shooting attack or no.

If you're casting support powers to buff your own stuff, it's pretty obvious that the subject being effected are your own troops....no Aegis possible.

It is a psychic ability directed at a unit, so it still affects the squad.
As long as the squad is the target of a psychic ability.
If a Tervagon tried using one of their psychic abilities it wouldn't take the -1 ld because it doesn't target the squad.

Nurgle's rot has no target. Therefore nurgle rot would not be affected by aegis. Per aegis wording they can still be affected as long as they are not the target. Correct?

Yes, IE; Psyker Battle Squad uses their large blast template to hit Mob A (no Aegis) it scatters onto Mob B(Aegis)

You lost me with this explanation. The psychic test is rolled before shooting it. So if I roll against a unit without aegis and it scatters on one that does have it it is good day for me haha.

It's late lol, similar to nurgle's rot which has no target. So no target with Aegis.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

This made me wonder about Ork Weirdboyz, who are required to pass their Psychic test before picking their targets. You could either agree that the test can be modified after it has been rolled or you can ignore the Aegis.

The latter seems more fitting with the rules, but what do others thinks?

I was wondering about this as well, casting Null zone from a librarian doesn't specifically target a squad (all enemy units within 24") but obviously affects them, so is this also -1 LD?

No, null zone would not be at -1 nor would other area effect psychic powers like tempest wrath.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

'Area effect' non-targetted powers are unaffected. I mention the Weirdboy since all of his shooting abilities can target Grey Knights but the Psychic Test must be passed prior to target selection.

i would say no aegis only because of the way that wierd boyz work in the back ground and the fact that they are a very random and dont realy target they jus let fun stuff happen and watch heads go pop lol
