What are people's opinions on the fates of the cast?

What do people think happened to Thaddeus and the Force Commander?

Sooilers, obviously.

Avitus betrayed the group. The scout guy stayed loyal. Dunno about the librarian, but I doubt he betrayed. Thule likely remained as well. Force Commander was loyal more likely than not, given how successful they were according to the Ultramarines in Space Marine. Thaddeus probably (no confirmation here) loyal too.

The Force Commander became the Captain of the 4th Company, i'm thinking that thaddeus and jonah orion were still under his command during Retribution that's why they weren't present in the game during retribution

Everyone else(tarkus, martellus and cyrus) got assigned to Diomedes during retribution who leads the 1st company although i think most of the 1st company were the followers of azariah already during that time

Gabriel Angelos became the cyborg chapter master of the blood ravens after defeating their current chapter master who became a daemon prince(makes you wonder how he wasn't entombed in a dreadnought after being 2 hand smashed by the daemon prince)

Avitus was the only confirmed traitor in the group who died during chaos rising.

My bad about jonah forgot he was with angelos at the final battle although they never said that the force commander joined kyras, the evil ending had him joining the black legion not kyras lot...

Spoiler:
If the Cannon traitor is Thaddius then why is it the Force Commander is called the Traitor in Retribution?

I actually got it wrong - Melissia was correct on the canon traitor.

Ah, that reminds me. Jonas probably died at the final stage of Retribution (I remember seeing him there now, in the intro level).

The traitor was supposed to be a good friend who served with Tarkus in the Kronus campaign, which Thaddeus had not been a Marine during. Which basically leaves Avitus or the Force Commander-- and I doubt it was the FC.

Here's the explanation from the RelicNews forum:

Since Tarkus is the Ancient, and Martellus, Cyrus, and Jonah all appear as loyalists, and Thule cannot be the traitor, either Thaddeus, Avitus, or the Force Commander must betray you. We know someone must be the traitor because Tarkus says so during his reveal. Tarkus also says that the traitor was a friend of his from the Kronus campaign, and that the traitor "answered Kyras' call." Since neither the FC nor Thaddeus served on Kronus, and since traitor-Avitus (in CR) specifically turns to Kyras (as opposed to all the other traitors), the traitor must be Avitus.

Who calls him that? If it's Apollo, then I think the answer to your question is self-explanatory...

Its Tarkus when he reveals himself as the Ancient on the Space Hulk.

Spoiler:
He reveals that he hunted down the Force Commander(who joined Kiras) and killed him. It is for this reason that he took the vow of silence, shame over being forced to slay his brother.

He was there at the end, but he was saying goodbye to Angelos and from his speech it sounded as if he would not be joining Gabriel at the Emperor's side just yet.

Farseer Taldeer was tortured and executed by Kyras. Whether her soul stone was recovered or not depends on if the Eldar "won" Retribution.

Wait didn't tarkus say that his friend who he slew served with him in kronus? If i remember the story correctly. First time the force commander and tarkus fought together was in Aurelia. Avitus was the only other blood raven in the cast tarkus fought alongside during the kronus campaign

Yes and no. My suspicion is that if either of the two Imperial groups won (and the Marines appear to be the canon winners), then a skilled Pathfinder (like, say, Taldeer's brother...) would slip in after the fact and recover the soulstone from Kyras's remains.

The Orks might leave it (in which case it's the same as the above), or they might take it (it's a pretty gemstone to them). If the latter, then they probably wouldn't give it any special attention (aside from what they'd ordinarily think about a large gemstone), and a team of Eldar infiltrators would probably be dispatched later on to track it down and recover it.

If Eliphas (who might recognize it) or the Tyranids (who would eat it) win, on the other hand, then it's lost forever.

Eliphas would DEFINITELY recognize it. And probably also eat it.

Or at least sacrifice it to Slaanesh.

Whom would then also eat it.

From the Chaos Rising ending...
They either stayed with the chapter ( good ending ) or go to the Eye of Teror for 100 years ( neutral ending ).
