With a vengeance baby, yeah! It looks better proportioned and that Tantalus looks sexy - it's like the Dark Eldar are doing a Gillette - now with four blades! I'm still waiting for a razor to come out with 10 blades that's nuclear powered.

Pretty sure it's not, since the Prometheus already exists.
THIS is the Prometheus:

Very interesting... I wonder how they'll fit this new-but-old variant into the fluff... We've already got a preheresy LR in the MkIIB so I'm guessing this one will have a MkI monniker. Will it be a newly uncovered STC variant that is a prototype or an even more advanced model ala the contemptor? I'm also curious to see the size of the tank as the old RTLR is shorter but taller than current LRs.
Wow, that really brings back memories - when GW only did 3 plastic vehicle kits, and every Imperial army had Land Raiders (which came in boxes of two). I like how they've stuck closely to the original, but subtly modified the details, like the track plates (there are more of them and theyr'e smaller). It looks a bit longer than the original too. I'd be very tempted to get one, despite the hefty price tag. Wouldn't really know what to do with it though.
What next - FW versions of the original beakie Marines?

Where have you been?
Wonder if Harlequins will be able to take it as a Dedicated Transport?

Under a rock, obviously. If I knew about those, I'd forgotten.
According to the FW newsletter, the Proteus is the precursor to the Phobos. It is 'bulkier and faster' as well, and used as a 'forward assault vehicle' (that presumably means it's part of the assault before the real assault).

Since it doesn't have Assault Ramps, it may act as a fast moving Land Raider to counter balance things. It may also be cheaper in points compared the to the standard LR.
To be honest, it doesn't matter what the rules will be, we're all gonna want one of these!
I was pretty stoked on the Land Raider until I realized it's $126 and requires conversion to be used in normal games (does not appear to have heavy bolters).

It only requires conversion if your group doesn't allow FW.

I dunno about that, half way up the front at the side there is what looks like a pivot point. I can see the front panel folding over the rams in a drawbridge kinda fashion?
Panic...

I don't think they're going to sell all that many, for all of the reasons nectarprime noted...

If you take the raised profile which has the same shape at the current LR model as the same dimensions I can see it being an inch or so higher and an inch longer.
I look forward to some pictures of it next to some beakies.
