So i picked out my colors for my Chaos Space Marines but then i got wondering what should i do with Berserkers, Plague Marines, Noise Marines and Thousand Sons. Because painting a Plague Marines that's not green or a Berserker that's not red would just look kinda weird. So how should i paint them so they still match the rest of my army?

Option 1. You could retain an element of your original colour scheme whilst maintaining the usual colours for those marines. eg. Paint the berserker red but give it a black helmet/shield/shoulderpads or whatever if the rest of your marines are black.

Option 2. The other way round. Paint the berserker black but give it a red helmet/shield/shoulderpads or whatever.

Option 3. Paint them all in the scheme you have chosen for all of the other marines. eg. all black. and rely on the shape and design of the models to differentiate them.

Option 4. Paint them according to the 'standard' colouration and don't worry about them fitting in with your chosen scheme.

Any help?

Actually i like the idea of painting one of their shoulder pads the colors i picked and keeping the rest the right colors, thanks.

Well.... thousand sons should technically always be blue. Theyre specifically thousand sons. Death guard should always be death guard colors, etc.

That said, its your army, so do whatever you want with it.

If your army isn't assembled yet, other options are the modeling. Zerkers can have more skulls, hands and other trophies on them, adding impaled trophies on their backpacks. Death guard to have horribly mangled armor, weeping sores and entrails spilling from cracked stomach plates, etc. Thousand sons, or counts-as thousand sons, can be covered in oodles and oodles of scroll-work/robes, and if its in your skill, add psychic hoods.

berzerkers also don't have to be red, they can be trimmed in brass/bronze if your army already isn't, death guard can simply have your army's colors, just tarnished and worn off. Your sorcerors can also be the flashiest gits in your army, competing even with your HQ.

whoops, beaten to it by option 3, as mentioned above.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.

I run a black legion army that is a four horseman army (I.E. 1 squad of each plagues, thousand sons, berserkers, noise marines). The main thing I've done to help promote unification is make sure the whole army has a unifying tone. In my case dark. Each squad isn't as vibrant as what I would paint just a mono themed army, they are all blackened. The berserkers maintain a redish color, but are more maroon with black shoulder pads. The plagues are a dark green lichen-esq color with plenty of black hidden away in the recesses.

The only one that didn't work that well was my noise marines as the first batch was WAY too bright. But they are being redone in a dark purple/black scheme.

Paint them all midnight blue and blood red. Even the plague marines.
