I didn't follow the case intensly as I am not fully informed on Italy's legal system. Assuming jutsice was served I hope she can move on with her life now.

So the only physical evidence was the knife which was possibly contaimanaited? Also how was Hermann linked to Knox? Seems all three were convicted. Did she know him personally?
The timeline does not give sufficient info to make an analysis in my mind. If the only physical evidence was the knife, which is now in question, I don't see hwo you could convict. I would think there is more though.
It also seems the lead investigator (prosecutor) of the murder case has been convicted of abusing his power (on a sperate case) and was even sentenced to a 16 month jail sentence.

http://whatculture.com/news/daily-mail-announce-amanda-knox-as-guilty-in-appeal.php
Daily Mail (right wing rag in the UK for US readers) accidentally published the wrong story.
As Knox realized the enormity of what judge Hellman was saying she sank into her chair sobbing uncontrollably while her family and friends hugged each other in tears.
A few feet away Meredith’s mother Arline, her sister Stephanie and brother Lyle, who had flown in especially for the verdict remained expressionless, staring straight ahead, glancing over just once at the distraught Knox family.
Prosecutors were delighted with the verdict and said that ‘justice has been done’ although they said on a ‘human factor it was sad two young people would be spending years in jail’.
Well we know for a fact that didn't happen, so they just make this stuff up.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I'd say sarcastically "Who wouldn't think it?", but for working in a store which sells many newspapers, where the Daily Mail sells out -every single day-.

Maybe its the guy who is in jail for her murder? A third person was convicted before Knox or her boyfriend. It's possible he acted alone.

Although the prosecutor in his case said he had two accomplices. Now that the two implied accomplices are free it may be time to revisit his conviction.

Certainly they do, but usually they are minor or through genuine misreporting. But where do the quotes come in the Mail article given that these events never happened? It's obviously they fabricated the whole thing before hand so as to appear be one of the first newspapers reporting the story, the only problem is that they put the wrong pre-prepared report online by mistake. I assume that the initial "Amanda Knox Freed" article was equally fictitious until enough facts came to light to actually write an article.
It's pretty pathetic. No doubt many other newspapers do exactly the same thing though.

Of course they do. I recall when the O.J. Simpson trial concluded one reporter waived a flag - one color for guilty and another for innocent - to indicate the verdict so that the report could be put out as soon as possible.
The facts of any case can be spun to create a good story to support either side's success (or failure). In high profile cases, media groups write stories to cover either case so that when the verdict comes down they are ready to go to the press.
It's either good reporting, laziness, or an incredibly cynical view of society, depending on how you look at it.

I'm not sure about political hacks in the UK, I'm commenting in general. Newspapers do this crap all the time. To target the Daily Mail for doing this simply because they happen to be of a different political persuasion is absurd.
Last paragraph from the above-linked story.
It later emerged that The Sun newspaper made a similar gaff, though they were quicker to rectify the mistake.
Is The Sun another right-wing tabloid?

Whilst I can't shake the feeling that she knows more than she's telling, there was nowhere near enough evidence to convict her. Flashman says not guilty and offers his condolences that she didn't make it out in time to be on Oprah.
It has taught me that the Italian judicial system is scary. The prosecution case in the appeal appeared to be based purely on character assassination with nothing to back it up. All those "devil woman" type comments were no doubt great for the press, but were utterly devoid of purpose in a criminal trial.

Yeah, that would be the guy who there was actual credible physical evidence against, who initially fled the country and only got fourteen years.

No they don't. Have both outcomes of an event prepared ahead of time, sure. Print media used to do that because preparing the articles for print took so long - nowadays they do it because the speed of data means every second lost are more readers going elsewhere. It makes sense. Of course, PUBLISHING the wrong story, complete with fabricated statements, is what the Fail is getting excoriated over.
And the Sun is a ratty old rag too.
