Many people would know how hard it is for australians to afford GW products (e.g. an Aobr set for 160 US dollars!). I find it really hard to find a cheap way to get GW products cheaply.
I have a few questions regarding the title.
Are their any chep stores that:
*Are not affected by GW's embargo
*Have rather low prices compared to GW (Australia prices are off the roof)
*Has a free shipping policy
*And offers a wide range of GW products
Me and my friends have looked at a few stores and cannot seem to find any that are quite cheap.
Please help.
(Thanks in advance)

Unless they've gotten around to fixing it, purchasing from the GW UK site and shipping it down under still provides a hefty discount compared to straight GW OZ prices.

You tried the Combat Company yet?
Admittedly I havent bought anything from them yet but since the embargo I havent purchased anything, but Im thinking of trying there. They're Sydney-based company I think, and shipping is free for any purchases over $100, which will be most of the time I think lol. The savings arent huge, maybe like 15%-20%, but still pretty good and they stock all the major plastic kits.
There's also the Dicebucket, which I also havent ordered from before, but they're US-based, and so the savings are about 40% off what we pay here. Unfortunately there's no free shipping (but still ends up cheaper than retail here if you make purchases at least above $100), and I think their stock range is slightly less than the Combat Company.
Off the top of my head, there's also Black Cultist, but I dont know if they're still around or what kind of savings they have, but they're also Aussie-based and might be worth a look.
Let me know your findings so I can start ordering stuff too

Combat company quite often do 20% off and there is an extra 5% discount available on top of that if you have a "green card" (coupon code: Green Card) - Russel has been known to hand these cards out at conventions (and he gave my club a dozen of them).
I'll be using them more often now due to my other option closing down (gaming dragon are getting out of gaming - it's not cost-effective).

Try Dicebucket. Plastics only, basically they buy things like battleforces in bulk, split them up and sell them separately. They even have a storefront and are US based.
In general, plastic troops boxes come to about $20au-$30au.

Im guessing you've ordered from them before then? Has anything ever gone wrong? How's customer service?
Just curious seeing as Im also interested in starting to purchase from them now.

Pretty good.
If any part of your order is out of stock, Russell generally emails you to tell you (or will probably phone if asked to).
I've had some Warmachine stuff delayed due to stock issues (but that was a PP thing globally).
The backordered stuff is sent freight-free.
Usually stuff gets here in a couple of days from them (but I'm only a couple of hours up the freeway).
I've had ZERO issues with improperly packed stuff or mispacks and good communications with them.

It works fine. Don't order from GWUS though. They may have the best (and fastest) service, but their shipping prices are through the roof.
MaximusPrime wrote:I have heard that dicebucket has very expensive shipping.
Is 25 bucks 'very expensive'?
Essentially their shipping goes:
Order up to $100 = $25 shipping.
$101-$200 = $35
$201-$300 = $45
And so on.
That's not a great deal, and certainly less than GWUK.

At that rate, any order less than $100 is really not worth it, but closer to $200 and up, then the savings really stack up, so I think it's best to make bulk purchases.

Another shout for combat company. Every order I've made so far has been delivered either next day or next but one day. Free shipping over 100 bucks and 25% off GW retail. Russell the guy who runs it is a really customer service guy, and will go out of his way to help you out. I've got nothing but good words to say about the company.
Stuff might be a bit cheaper from some of the US retailers, but there are very long shipping times, and the customer service has been really sub-par in my experience.

I could order $200au worth of stuff for my Tyranids and have it come in under $100us (a pair of Trygons). I'd gladly pay $25us shipping for a saving of $75au.

I don't spend enough on GW stuff to benefit from that $200+ spend in one hit from GWuk. Not likely I will in future, either.
In the last 12 months, I've spent less than half that on GW stuff. I've decided to concentrate on other things and leave the GW armies where they are - unless I can find what I want on the 2nd hand market.

Combat Company is my preferred retailer, bought a pile of scenery stuff from them + paints etc over the last year.
If you are looking for an alternative though, the other one I have heard good things about is:
http://www.milsims.com.au/catalog/1648
I haven't purchased from them myself but have seen feedback from people who have. If anyone has had a bad experience let me know as I'm looking at possible getting some Woodland Scenics stuff from them in the future.

Anyone know if Combat Company has an outlet? I work about 10 minutes from where they are based, so being able to pick it up rather than ship it would be handy.

I've been getting stuff from Milsims on and off for about 10 years. They're okay.. not great, but not the worst. But I'd honestly go and get my GW stuff from somewhere else, because they don't keep a great range in stock and they dont offer the same discounts as other retailers.
If you need historical wargaming stuff, or board games, or that sorta thing? Go to Milsims. Other stuff? Shop around.

Not AFAIK.
I know the business is based in Hurstville (business address for "Modifx" the branding on their magnets) but I've only ever dealt with them in person at major conventions - my other experiences are online orders.
Speaking of which. Up until christmas, now any orders over $50 will ship postage free.
And you can get magnets from them again, too - as they have been given a sort of green light to do so (per the wording on the new law referring to "toys" and not specifically construction media used for non-toy use.)

Can't folks in Australia just have a gamer in the US buy the stuff and ship it to them? I would be willing to help someone out by doing this.
I know shipping across the pond is expensive, but it has to be way cheaper than buying it direct. Especially, if you just put the sprues
and components in baggies and don't ship the boxes.
