Subject: 1000pts Fluff based Death Guard Army

Hi I'm planning on starting a second 40k army around Christmas time to be exact, i currently have orks and was looking for something different, also something no one else at my warhammer club had, my
eyes fell upon chaos. After a few days of research and fluff reading i came across the Death Guard a chaos army for Nurgle i decided that they would be nice.
HQ
Chaos Lord 165pts
Terminator Armor
Mark of Nurgle
Daemon Weapon
Elites
6x Terminators 180pts
Chaos Dreadnought 125pts
Twin Linked Lascannon
Troops
7x Plague Marines 176pts
Champion
7x Plague Marines 176pts
Champion
14x Summoned Lesser Daemons 182pts
plague bearers obviously
total: 1004pts
So lord with terminators, and the rest are footslogging it while the dreadnaught provides support. When i get to higher point values I'll use Typhus instead of lord but for now its a cheaper alternative.
please keep in mind this is just a quick list I threw together today, and it should all be good with the lore and fluff, if not just say.

I don't play Chaos myself, but I've seen a few other lists and critiques of them on here.
-The Plague Marines are good choices, but they could use Meltaguns and Rhinos. That small of a number of models walking across the board just isn't enough targets, and special weapons are always a good choice. You might be able to get the points by dropping a few Terminators.
-A lot of people say that Lesser Daemons aren't a very good unit, but if you are going with them for your Nurgle fluff, don't worry about it. Plaguebearers look awesomely gross.
-The Chaos Dreadnought isn't as good for providing fire support as the Space Marine Dreadnought, because of the possibility of going into a Fire Frenzy against the closest models (likely yours, if it's in the back). It seems like everyone and their mother takes Obliterators to provide support. Once again though, if your themed list calls for it, I'd go with it. They aren't HORRIBLE, but there are better alternatives.
-I would consider Deepstriking in the Terminator Squad and Lord to keep them out of harm's way; it just sucks seeing your big bad HQ drop to heavy weapons fire because he's a target. They'll likely arrive in about the same time it would take to walk across the board, though it can be a little risky.
Themed lists are awesome, and that's always something to remember. Themed lists have trouble against the more competitive lists, but they can be way cooler for modelling, painting, and background. Fortunately, even in the not-so-great Chaos Codex, Nurgle choices are still pretty mean.

Also keep in mind that this list has no Icons of Chaos or Personal Icons, so the lesser daemons would never be able to enter the board. (They have to Deep Strike next to a unit bearing an Icon, and without one, would count as reserves that cannot enter play, so they would be destroyed.) Similarly, you would not be able to avoid scatter when deep striking your Terminators (and Lord).
I initially started my CSM army as a pure Death Guard themed list, but found that while Plague Marines are terrifyingly hard to kill, they are in turn not very dangerous. Nowadays, I always take a Plague Champion with a Power Fist and Combi-Melta, in addition to 2 Meltaguns per squad in order to have them be able to dish out some hurt as well as take it.
