Subject: Necrons 5th Ed BattleScribe .cat file (Updated file! v.2.0)

After reading the new Necron Codex I cought a case of insomnia
Spent whole night creating a catalogue for BattleScribe I could use to create new rooster.
I'll gladly share the file with You, unless any of the mods have anything against it...
If so - pardon me, if not - please leave it here
Also - let me know if you find any bugs etc...
Few notes:
- If you want to select Vargard Obyron as standalone HQ choice - select him normally from the HQ section
- If you want to use him as bodyguard to Nemesor Zahndrekh - add Nemesor to rooster and under "Bodyguard" select "Vargard Obryron" - this will make it unable to add Vargard to rooster normally... Couldn't think of other (more clean or convenient) way to put that...
- Hope I got the whole Court concept right...
- I added Tomb Stalker (Forge World rules) to Heavy Support as I will be using that with my friends (we all agreed rules to be ok to use in our games) - ignore that unit unless you know your apponent aproves FW experimental rules
UPDATE 01/12/2011:
- fixed many errors and misinterpretations of rules
- you can now take Crypteks without Harbinger upgrade, and weapons are not listed as exclusive wargear
- every named character and other units have their gear listed even if it's "mandatory" or there is no selectable options (just so you don't forget that for ex. Zahndrekh has RezOrb and you don't have to add Lord with one)
- all Units and Weapons have their profiles added so if you print roster, you get summary of all weapons and units you chose with their stats neatly summarised
PLEASE! Report all issues / suggest changes etc... in this thread so I can update file accordingly, thanks!
Here is the current version of the file:

It's a rooster editor / army list builder... Like Army Builder but totally free and works on every platform (Android Phone included!).
You can download it here: http://www.battlescribe.net/
Sadly GW hammered that project with LawSuit Hammer hard, so you have to find the other army catalogue (codex like) files and game system files (rulebook like) yourself.
But that's easily done with some google-fu Their around in the net. One of Dakka users even started a repository If I recall right. Look for that.

Love the data file, thanks for creating it. Just two small issues that I picked up with it. No.1 is that if you upgrade the Crypteks to Harbingers, I thought they automatically receive their weapon option, hence there should be more than one allowed per army. No.2 is that the rules state that a Cryptek's wargear is unique per Royal Court, not army. So if you play 2 Necron overlords they can each have a Cryptek with exactly the same wargear. 2 Harbingers of Despair giving you 2 deepstriking Warrior squads can work quite nicely, as long as you dont scatter badly on your deep strike rolls, which I naturally did in my first game using them. If I got the rules wrong, I humbly beg pardon.

Once I'm done - I'll let you know - it's gonna be almost like codex in a pill so you have all rules on the print out

Updated file and first post. Hope you like it, I'm happy that some people out there use BattleScribe. To me it's a good initiative, clear and simple app and no price hassle bullcrap like with Army Builder.

I still prefer Army Builder and AB only really has the initial purchase cost. You only have to pay to update when a completely new version of AB is released. Otherwise manual updating and file update is free as long as you manual update the files yourself.
However, their required 1 month embargo on new Codexes stinks but is necessary. Automatically Appended Next Post: Could you add in the option to upgrade Immortals for the Traveller's special rule?

Hello, I'm new to BattleScribe as well as playing Necrons. I went to the Battlescribe website and downloaded what they said was their latest version, 1.12.05B and then imported Necrons 5th Ed (2011).cat. I am unable to see the Ghost Ark or Command Barge? Any idea why I am unable to see these units to add to my roster? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

You select dedicated transports directly from the entry of a unit you wish to add transport to.
For ex. Pick 10 Warriors and under "Transport" you have 3 self-explanatory options "None", "Night Scythe" and "Ghost-Ark"
