I have been reading quite a lot of WIP-Blogs over the last few weeks and I have decided to finally start my own.

I like modelling more than painting. Thats because I like to tell stories with the models, and a story is easier to tell with the pose and my conversions. Sure, painting is important and helps a lot, but I am a very lazy painter. It takes days until I am happy with the look of a troop-model

Lets show some models:

This is Rogbotz, my tankbusta-nob. I think he looks cool, but gamewise hes crap.

Look at the twin shoota
As you can see, the metal mask on his face has killed his facial skin, so it has turned grey

These guys are three of my Lootas. They show the career of the average loota, from collecting the suff to destroying it in rage (apparently it didnt work )

Many more Orks will follow, but right now im a bit tired (its getting late here in germany) so I'll just show you the IG-pirates I started 2 days ago

These dudes are the first of my pirates. Note the custom melta on the right and the "sawed of Lasguns", wich will count as shotgus in the game

His luck ammo clip!

He looks good. I like the color scheme, and the dirtyness of his gear. I feel you on painting, btw.

London.

And this is why I love Orks. Each and every one makes me smile, sheer insanity but it works. The hovering deffgun is my personal favourite and I'm sure your opponents will enjoy spending as much time looking at your troops as they will playing against them.

Sweet paint jobs too, the limited palette works great and the small touches of colour in the eyes and the gorey klaw draw your eye nicely.

Bravo.

Thank you very much for liking my Orks

MOAR:

A killa Kan with a walking pose:

Two Kommandoz; the rigt one isnt wearing camo because he is the "distracion boy"

I hope you can see the details, I know black undercoat doesnt look too nice. But theyre up next on the paintin' shelf!

He has a story of his own: As you might want to know, I approach modelling a new dude very openly. I planned to build a mek that day, but as i picked up the chainsword i figured it would work great as trakk-units. I looked around until i found a spare boys-body, and from then on the bitz jut flew together. Done. I think he looks cool.

And here hi back:

And some more nobs. The thing on the left guys back is a Waagh banner. The right guys pose is intended to say something like "Wutz you doin' on da ground, Gruff? You dyin' or wat? Let me help you wif dat!"

Thats it for today

Thanks for the post. You know, having people tell me they want to see my models painted really inspires me to do so. I primed him just before I started rthis thread , so he's on the painting shelf after the 3 Kommandoz

He looks great! I don't think I quite agree on labelling yourself a 'lazy' painter.. Unless you mean in terms of really procrastinating it, the painting itself is great. I define a lazy painter as somebody that doesn't put the effort into painting their models anything above absolutely minimum standard, in which case, you certainly do not fall into that catergory

Thank you very much for the reply! With labeling mysef lazy I meant to say that I dont paint much; It literally takes me weeks to finish a project. BUT, I decided to paint more to keep this blog runnning

Thank for the post! BTW, my painting shelf got a little messed up; while I was waiting for a wash on a kommando to dry, I figured I could try some new technices on my guardsman. I ended up painting the Human intead of the Ork. Ill try to post him tomorrow or the day after, and next on the shelf is the Pink horror Loota, becaue someone wanted to see him painted

That use of the chainsaws is inspired I'm going to have to try it yself at some point the painting is characterful and the conversions dynamic. I'd suggest you look at Monkeytroll's work for some great inspiration!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Is that finished? If so, I think the skin tone is too similar to the fatigues..

..I assume it's not done though, and you just want feedback on the armor's colour scheme?

This was the first human face I painted, so I guess its not finished and could be improved. Maybe you know how to make good looking black skin?

And btw, how is the armors color sheme?

I dont usually follow Ork threads but these conversions are really good and characterful. The painting is top notch as well and really does the models justice, I especially like all the kill decals you are adding to your guns and rockets. The colours scheme is not to bright and rust covered as alot of Ork armies tend to be. Look forward to seeing more!
