Great report Aaron, I remember keeping an eye on your game from next door and it seemed really close.

It is those little mistakes against good opponents that add up and kill you in these kinds of games.

Aaron, as far as my dice rolls were concerned, I didn't realize how below average I rolled until you reminded me again in the write up. That Storm Raven must have ate at least 15 lascannon shots not to mention 24 Hydra shots. And notta real scratch until turn #5. Better late than never I guess.

It was indeed a very tactical game which drew out the length. We had many options to consider especially trying to guess where each of our objectives were. Had I remembered to fire the plasmas, still having nightmares 8), it's possible your henchman squad and/or the five man strike squad in the center of the board would have been gone. After that mishap, your henchman practically wiped my 2 units of Vets and CCS. Fortunately, I managed to hold you in close combat Aaron. At least that went right for me. 8) The Vet's and CCS could have entertained your NDK should I had remembered to fire the plasmas. Wishful thinking. My blob with the commissar had other ideas in mind with your NDK. I couldn't risk having your NDK run free so I had no choice but to tie him up.

You timed your flat out move with your storm raven perfectly in turn #5. Not only did I have to down the raven but your techmarine as well since he was contesting. That's quite a daunting challenge for me considering my dice were not treating me well. I was fortunate in that regard.

All in all Aaron, it was indeed an entertaining and challenging game. I'm glad we had the chance to chat afterwards and get to know each other a bit more. My team has plans to attend the ATC as well but I just heard that Wargames Con and the ATC are one week a part in June. I will only be able to attend one of these events. Let's stay in touch Aaron.

And yes, Paul does roll.... "depressingly bad". I play him regularly when I get the time. Most of my game-plan is Paul rolling horrendously with the majority of his Lascannons. This is why he runs Hydras/Vens

@ Paul - Realistically, I can only leave town for one major event next year. ATC is my first choice as I love playing alongside my friends more than just going to a sinles event. However, interest amongst DaBoyz in the ATC has doubled this year and my spot is not guaranteed. I'll have to wait and see who the senior members choose.

@ Aux - Good to know! Next time I play Paul I will be much more aggressive knowing that I can depend on his rolls being sub-par hehe.
