I'm trying to come up with a name for my Dark Eldar army, which I first started styling after the Cult of the Red Grief, but has since started to become something else.

Hey, I like the red you used. It's very bright, and distinctive, how'd you do it?
I also like the small touches, like the red scar tattoos on their faces. It really draws attention to their faces.

Also, how'd you get an incubi without a weapon? Major miscast, much? :(

Ronin.- The red is just Blood Red GW Paint, with Baal Red wash over top. I'm not a very advanced painter, so I don't do many mixes or the like. As far as the weaponless Incubi, it was an EBay purchase as is deal. Not sure where his Klaive went to. " Kabal of the Ravanged Wound" is a front runner name-wise....

Finished up my Trueborn last night. Still not sure if I want to add Flesh capes to them, and I still need a power pack for the second Dark lance gunner, but hey are able to make it to the table this sunday, so that'll be nice. Also started my Drazhar model. Problem with the model not coming with the Weapon is that also means he is missing part of his arm on the right. Came up with the sollution, but I would've rathered he came complete. His blades are 50% from the hellion's klaive and 50% wyche's assault weapon. Still a lot to do and add to him , but I threw in some WIP pics, as I did say I would try to update this blog more regularly than I have in the past.

Next project will be updating my old style Raider. Still not sure what all I will do to that...

I ordered 2 more fine cast mandrakes today from EBay, brining my expected total to 13 when they show up.

I've gotten some good name suggestions so far , but I'm still open to more if anyone has their own 2 cents to throw in.

Next on the to-do list is the old Raider for my Kabalite trueborn. May find an hour or two to work on it today if my little boy decides to nap for more than 45 minutes.

I managed to convert my Old style raider into something a little more table worthy, as was my plan. I just need to add a rider or (as I had done with the other old one), a linked up corpse. However, I now look to my other, newer Raiders and the like and see I may want to paint their Etheral Sails Black, As I have done with this one and the Dias of Despair.

Still waiting on my 13 mandrakes, 1 incubi and 60 resin skulls to make my Pain Tokens with, all things moving at speed of snail mail.
After that , I should be tackling my 2nd squad of HArlequins I've been neglecting for over a year.


Name wise , its looking like a toss up Between The Coven of Anguish, (Thanks to Firefighter X), and Cult of the Ravaged Wound (From Ronin's suggestion).

Anyone have any other considerations for names?

Say no more. I'm lucky. For the most part my lil' guy's a great napper.

I like what I'm seeing here. I have a soft spot for Incubi so they're awesome of course and Drazhar. Me likey. I really like The Coven of Anguish personally. It's a nice change from all the Kabals of this and the Kabals of that.

I vote for Cult of the Ravaged Wound.

Bunnygurl: Thanks a lot. Yeah, Incubi are probably my Favorite unit that the DE bring to the Table, I just wish I had more of them. " Coven of Anguish" is a great name, and I'm probably leaning that way with them, (Again-TY Firefighter X).

I quite like these, it's a nice force and rather well done over all, a couple of personal gripes but nothing worth mentioning

Also - if you want Grotesques and don't want to sell your liver for it being you like converting stuff / greenstuffing there's a few cheaper options. 1: Use Skaven Rat Ogres + Green Stuff to create some. 2: (How I've done it) Use Wood Elf Dryads + GS.

All you need otherwise is a pack of 40mm round bases.

You can also make wracks out of Plague Monks

yeah - almost my whole coven is conversions to start because no available models, then because they cost so damn much :(.

I have 8 Haems, 12 Grotesques and currently 29 wracks, 2 scratchbuilt talos and a cronos.

That works out at:
8 Haemonculi @ £10.50 = £84
12 Grotesques @ £12.50 = £150
30 Wracks (5per box) @ £20.50 = £123
3 Pain Engine boxes @ £28 = £84
== £441 (CAD$715)
using GW product.

I bought:
(from a 3rd part retailer)
2 Boxes of 12 Dryads @ £16.20 = £32.40
1 Drycha @ £6.80
2 Box of 20 Plague Monks @ £16.20 = 32.40
1 set Eldar Dread bases @ £2.55
Assorted Bits and GS for the project.. probably around £10.
Which totals around £85

Which made the models you can see in my P&M blog.
(I could have bulked out the grots more but didnt feel like it.)

Rat Ogres are also good and a quick search will show you the results.
Getting the IoB ones is cheap enough.

Dryads aren't to everyones taste, but I like their versatility.

The Grotesques and tehwracks are two units I'd definately like to find a acheaper alternative for. I don't really do a Haemaonculi list, even though I have some of the models for it, but I do intend to have the option.
