Wow, amazing that they would still buy air time to sell the collection after all these these years. I remember watching this stuff in real time.

Ahh,yes. I remember watching it back when it was showing on the air.

The Mad Mothers got it pulled from the local station. It showed people {horrors!} getting killed! You know, like, what really happens in wars.

Apparently GI Joe was much more acceptable because it stayed on the air for what, a decade or so? Nice message there, millions of rounds expended and not one person so much as scatched.... Go ahead and shoot at your friends, kids! Guns never hit who you're aiming at! Now you know!

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!

You forgot the two best parts, lots of fist pumping while yelling "Yo Joe" and the little safety tips with the ending line "And now you know, and knowing is half the battle....GI JOE!!!!"

I do agree though, I much prefered Robotech to GI Joe just because people where duchebags " Field Marshell Lenord" people did die "Roy Folker and Ben Dixion" and there where transforming motorcycles...whats not to love.

Lets not get started on whats better Robotech/Macross or Harmony Gold and Carl Macek screwed Macross up here forever.... The reasion he spliced together Robotech out of, Super Dimernsional Fortress Macross, Super Dimernsional Calvery Southeren Cross and Genesis climber MOSPEADA is because he needed so many episodes for the network syndication packages at the time. I believe it was something like 65 or so eps and so we have Robotech. Now what Robotech did is introduct Anime to a whole new generation. There was some stuff on TV at the time ie StarBlazers/ Space Battleship Yamoto but not a while lot. This introduced us to Anime and one sweet ass marketing deal with Matchbox to produce the toy line in North America.

I like both, they both have a charm about them that I like. I don't know if it's nostalga for Robotech but I enjoy it still. Same with Macross and it's subsiquent works like Macross 7, Macross Plus (which has the best dogfighting scene out of any show peroid IMHO), Macross Zero and Macross Frontier. We shall never discuess Macross II....it never happened... (but I did like the Valykeries in it with the fastpacks...)

Loved Robotech the Series! I can remember when it went off the air and they replaced it with The Care Bears or some such nonsense I cursed very, very loudly and got my very first taste of Ivory Soap... ahh the good old days. Roy Fokker was the man! and the Skull Squadron was EPIC! I never could get into any other later generation stuff... just didn't have the same feel to me

I do think it helped prepare me for my time in the Army... hardships, the loss of friends, dealing with death... all the things associated with war... It didn't numb me but it set the right mindset at a young age... if that makes sense

Except for the utterly insufferable Lin MinMay plotline. I just wanted to stick a pencil in my eye. Its stupid, annoying, and vaguely creepy.

That was awsome n0t_u, Fire Bomber where awsome =o], but I see your Macross 7 and raise you the best dogfighting scene in any Macross show peroid Macross Plus, with the song 'Information High' by Yoko Kanano. Yoko-san knows how to write awsome music, she did the tunes for Cowboy bebop, alot of the Macross shows, Ghost in the shell : Stand Alone Complex. This is one of my favoret MAcross AMV's off all time.

Plus it had the DYRL version Macross in it which is the coolest looking Macross ever. I loved the ARMD-1 & 2 platforms more then the Dadelous and Promethous arms. It also has leg panells built into it to make the Macross cannon attack even more powerful. Sighs I am a Robotech/Macross/ Giant robot anime geek...I mean nut....yeah nut... >.> <.< =o]

Which comics? The old Comico ones, or the ones that did the Malcontent uprisings, invid war and invid war :Aftermath?

I really liked Invid War, showed what happened before the first REF Expiditionary force came back and got there asses handed to them. Then what was going on' on the side' of The New Generation....which was my favoret Robotech ( and one of my favoret anime's Genesis Climber MOSPEADA) arc. Transforming motorcycles, gotta love it. =o]
