hey all, I broke my valkyrie's cockpit, and was wondering if there were any simple conversions I could do to make it look different

That truly depends on your modeling skills and materials at hand... It also depends on what sort of look you are going for (such as old fashioned technologies vs really high tech)

Plain plasticard and paint the panes the blue-grads with the reflected light streak.

Considering that the canopy is in two parts, themselves made each from three parts, doing one single replacement canopy is going to be tricky without modifying the forward fuselage (like to fit an existing helicopter canopy, for example.

You could always go for the dangerous environment route...

Use plasti-card to create an enclosed canopy, then add loads of sensors etc. Make it look like it's flying on cameras and radar.
Also this means you can turn the whole of the canopy area into a face or something similar

As ever I hope I have been of some assistance,

When I say broke I mean shattered, even the grey plastic parts. I want some chaosish stuff

Ive seen a fully enclosed cockpit on a Valkyrie before which was done by replacing the vanilla cockpit with a closed pasticard one. Looked very nice although a lot more futuristic then the standard one.

Hmmm sounds too futureistic though

Chaosish stuff? As in traitor guard? If that's what you want, I'd suggest have an empty, ruined cockpit and say it's possessed by a daemon.

Leave it ripped opend and damaged looking. Then put in a couple of skeleton/ghoul pilots.

Or you can use some bits to have flesh and limb coming out of the cockpit, with the eye of Horus as a centerpiece. Now THAT would be menacing.

i stopped reading after i observed something, and that is a lack of an image of your issue. I think we will be in a better position to understand the nature of your miniature emergency if we see it.

If you get in a car accident, your bumper can shatter as well. But without actually seeing the extent of the damage, it's difficult to make the correct assessement of what will be necessary to fix it. Hence why I ask for an image.

It also helps because some of us do physically need to see the issue. A doctor can explain the problems with a patient's heart, but sometimes, only a diagram lets the patient understand.

I think it's the canopy that is broken, not the cockpit itself which is inside the aircraft.
Surely the OP could construct one from some clear plastic found on packaging, take away containers etc.
A picture would help because if it is the canopy that is broken then something may be able to be salvaged from it.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
For instance, glue as much of what's left back together and then make some armour plates to cover the obviously damaged bits with some vision slits like on the rhino or maybe some lenses off a sniper rifle or some other sensor array to show that the pilot has some way of seeing out of his armoured cockpit.

The canopy (Clear plastic) was shattered. Into millions of pieces. it is in the garbage
The Plastic struts to support the canopy were gone when I got the kit.

So dependant on your skill level, you could re-build from scratch using transparent plasticard for the canopy and white for the frame.

If you want something truly chaos looking, I support the suggestion CuddlySquig originally made. Make some exploded struts from sprue, glue some of the shards in place to represent the remains of the canopy (or make some from transparent plasticard), damage the interior with a knife or something to make it look like a bomb went off in there, and put some traitor guard in there flying the thing. This would be even better if they had mutations and either goggles or gas masks so they can see properly.

Would look amazing if the pilot's arm is dangling outside the cockpit as if he is dead, but don't know if that is possible with the positioning of this model - not an IG collector/player.

Hope this has been of some help.

It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." One torso, preferably a head that is shouting, electrical wire from an old power cord and a bit of GS would give that effect.
Power cords tend to have smaller tubes inside for each wire, just cut back the plastic making sure not to cut the wire until you achieve the desired result and finish off with GS or some other sort of putty.

Another chaos themed idea for a pilot is to "carefully"(less than 100 degrees for long enough for the heat to reach center) heat up your cockpit and pilot in the oven until a nail or exacto blade can create the effects you want by stretching and pulling the plastic in strings until desired effect is achieved. Very chaos looking!

Idea 2 is using pva glue to create a base of stringy and bubbly mass and then use super glue on that to eat away and create the even more chaosy look your going for. Im sure you have seen the articles on how that works in here.
hope those help in some way, excited to see what you come up with!
