Attention: I have been contacted by Puppets War and apparently the Warbus I received was accidentally taken from the miscast pile. They have graciously shipped out a replacement. I will redo my review once I receive it, until then, please take my observations below with a great deal of reserve, as they might not reflect the standard quality of Puppets War casting.
I just received
this bad boy in the mail today and figured I could share my experience.
Well, first things first. I ordered on the 26th and got it on the 5th. 9 days is pretty good.
I'm not going to bore you with packaging and unboxing, I'll just say it was securely packed and be done with it.
So here are all the parts laid out on my messy workbench:
First thoughts: Yeah, I'm so going to enjoy snipping those window blinds off the sprue without anything snapping...
On to inspecting the pieces.
Okay, what's this huge hole here? Did a pebble fall in the mould when the resin was being poured? And right on the door, too. This will be a

to fix.
And look, a wheel peg snapped off. Yay.
On the other side, there is some serious cleanup work needed to even free the wheel peg from vents and flash.
Okay, how does it go together? Well, we can match a peg to a hole, and a hole to... another hole? What? Whyyyy?
The passenger cabin sides are rather concave, as you can see here. Hopefully fixable by heating up the resin.
As it turns out, the resin is rather rubbery at room temperature...
Some good news, finally. The oft-neglected underside is decently detailed here.
On to the wheels.
Yeah, those weedy pegs are not going to support the bus. Did I mention that the driver cabin is one solid piece? This thing is
heavy. The pegs have to go, I suggest you have some ~1.5mm brass rod handy.
Dry-fitting it to see how it looks with the optional track units (these were a pleasant surprise as they do not appear on any of the product photos)
Scale shot. It's closer to a Battlewagon than a Trukk. Sadly I have neither on hand for a comparison, so a Rhino will have to do.
And with the top off. A comfortable fit for 6 boyz on bases and there is absolutely no doubt that it could carry 12 if the Nob could get them to sit down instead of posing dramatically with their choppas.
So what's my final verdict? The Warbus is not the worst resin kit I've ever handled, but it is certainly not a beginner's kit. The sculpt is fantastic, but there are some pretty serious casting issues present. Expect to do heat reshaping, cutting, sanding and pinning if you want to do the model justice. I am not sorry for my purchase and I would recommend it to any serious modeller with time to spare. If you're looking for something simple to put together quickly for a tournament next week, move along. The plastic Trukk and Battlewagon may have about 20 times the amount of individual bitz, but I guarantee you they'll be done faster.
Next time: Ramshacke Games
Stinger and
Pickup Truck.
EDIT: On a second inspection, I also seem to be missing the headlamp bit. Sloppy, sloppy.
