First off, I know that there is probably next to no recourse available to me. At this point, I either have to hope that my lot is stuck in Customs or just accept that I got ripped off and never trade online again.


Basically, here's what happened. I put my Tyranid army lot up here for trade. Got a response from Randomsauce19. He agreed to trade me 4 Rhinos, 3 Land Raider Crusaders and some infantry bases. We picked a day to ship, and he told me he sent the stuff out the same day that I sent my lot out.

I sent him the proper tracking number for his lot, which appears to have arrived on the 14th of November. I shipped my lot on the 5th. The last message I received from him was on the 9th. I asked him for a tracking number, and he said that he would look for the receipt to send it to me.

His last post on here was on the 15th. I sent him a message on the 9th, 27th, and the 2nd. He has yet to reply to any of them.

He has a couple other Transaction Reports here, but it looked like to me that he had plenty of reputable trades in the past. Still, I guess I'm a sucker after all most likely.

I want to believe that it is stuck in customs and that he isn't ignoring me, but it has been a month already, and he's never provided a shred of evidence to me that he actually shipped anything.

I really don't have a clue as to what I can or should do, as he lives in England and I live in the US. I have his address, so I guess I could submit some sort of claim based on that.


Really, I just want to hear from the guy. If anyone has his email address or another way to contact him, please let me know. If anyone knows him in real life, please let him know that I am trying to get in touch with him.

This is why I stick to trading only in the same country. Sales internationally are fine, but trades with customs and all are a pain.

I do hope that you either get what you traded for or get your tyranids back.

Well, if I remember correctlly, Randomsauce is a kid. He attempt to start a trade with a friend of mine. Im pretty sure he claimed he was around 14. This may require more work than normal to get a happy ending.

In the case that I actually did get screwed, I'll be pissed, but from reading his other posts, it looks like there's either customs to blame, or some other sort of mistake.

OK, a couple of things. Firstly, please cut the off-topic chatter. I appreciate trying to lighten the mood and all but there is a place and time and this isn't it. Any further off-topic nonsense will result in posts being deleted and warnings issued; lets keep this strictly relating to the details and facts of the trade.

Secondly, as alluded to, this user already has had Transaction Reports listed against him - cross reference this recent example:

This should really serve as a warning to any and all potential traders - use the search function and search for the persons you are dealing with. Read the TR sticky. If someone has had TRs against them then you need to think long and carefully about whether you wish to deal with them; even if said TRs have been resolved it should be raising a flag and at least provoke you to ask the question.

In terms of practical advice, at this stage you really need to be patient and hope that the parcel comes through. It has been roughly a month; it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the parcel is delayed or slow arriving. Secondly, you need to keep trying to make contact; do you have an email contact to reach him outside of Dakka? If all else fails and no response is received from the user, then you need to consider filing mail fraud charges - the rules and guidelines sticky has further information on this.

Damn it, I knew that name looked familiar.

I am in a deal with him too. I haven't lost anything, but he agreed to ship first and now ... nothing.

I last heard from him November 9th, all I got at that point was a name after I gave him my contact info.

He said his name was 'Oliver Pike'.

I will watch to see if you guys figure out what's going on and if I hear back from him I will keep you all updated.

Swap Shop guidelines say not to reveal any personal information, so I'll just say he's "Somewhere" in the UK. Dunno if he's actually in England off hand.

Well I'm sure you can say which town he is in. If he's active in the hobby and 14 chances are his local GW will know him.

Found his email with several not recently used accounts on various websites.

Sent him an email saying that I will file mail fraud charges in 5 days if he doesn't respond.

Update: After assistance from their local police, I have made contact with him and his mother. It seems he is just a 12 year old kid. At this point, I am pretty sure that he never intended to send me a thing, but I've yet to hear the whole thing.

At this point is it my recommendation that be be placed on the black list for trading.

I apologize for not having the Transaction Report list up to date with the previous transaction report involving this user (it is now fully up to date).

Having multiple unresolved transactions in the Swap Shop is one of the most serious offenses on Dakka and usually results in an abbreviated stay.

If anyone needs to get in contact with this RandomSauce19 I would PM Kumorikage for alternate contact information (it cannot be posted in this thread). Obviously, no one should trade with this user until their outstanding trade disputes in this thread and the previous unresolved TR are resolved. The one filbert linked to above was successfully resolved, so hopefully there is a chance for resolution here and not a total loss. Getting in touch with his parents is probably the best course of action for anyone else he owes items to, as Kumorikage has done.

I contacted his local police, which promptly paid a visit to his mother. They put the lot in the mail, and I received it a couple of days ago.

In my case, he NEVER had the items that he promised to trade, and thus had the intent of ripping me off from the get go.

Do NOT trade with this guy. If you are involved with a trade with him, I'd advise you to email the police department like I did.
