Hi i started painting my Necron warriors and have about 1/2 of my warriors painted.

I have:

1 annihalation / command barge (primed)
3 cryptek (unprimed)
1 overlord (primed)
1 stormlord ( primed)
1 C'tan (unprimed)
33 warrior (12 unprimed) (rest in painting progress)

Future purchases:
Ghost ark
maybe a monolith
immortals
anything else they release....

Here are some pics. I will post better ones this weekend with better light. I still have to flock the bases to give it a complete snow theme. I'll post more of different angles when I can

I was thinking about adding one more layer of white drybrishing to the shoulder and head to give it more of a snowy theme. Pretty happy with the results so far. I have used tin bits on the the gun to give it arusty effect.

Not a big fan of it to be honest, It looks like you've only painted the head.

I would recommend cleaning up some of the colors, it looks like the back plate is not finished and some of the blue got on where you painted metalic. The metalic doesn't cover well either. I think you might want to spend a little time on painting the models. Give us a few shots around on the model and I can give you a better idea of where to start and what you may want to do.

I'll send more pic later this afternoon. I'm not trying to go super detailed. This is also my 1st time painting. Mostly trying to get an overall theme and table ready.

Runnymouth: Should I do another layer of the ice blue for top later one more time> I dry brushed the metallic one layer over the primer, gives it that old feel.

Maybe put some colour onto the gun, even just alittle to space the colours out on the model.

That model is a work in progress. The other pics I'm trying to load are the finished ones.

I think that you should include more white or ice blue on that head. Other wise I like it

Ok finally got the pics to work. Used tin bits on the gun. might do another layer of ice blue or finish it up with a single light layer of white. I like the current look and feel. Like they were on the ice world in stasis and kinda aged.

I like it were you are going. I am on the fence with either a day of the dead (Mexico) theme or ice warriors using my airbrush and go from dark to light feet to head. Did something like that with a deamon prince. Keep it up man you will have an amazing army in no time.

thanks. I like the dull look of the blue right now. I think I might keep it at this scheme and maybe later down the line add another layer of ice blue to make it pop.

I'm still planning out how to paint my annihalation barge with the same scheme and how to paint my c'tan. Just traditional or do a blue paint scheme all over.

I really think you would be happier with another layer of blue, and then adding a wash layer. But if your happy then go for it. Nice scheme.

I think another layer of ice blue dry brushed would make it pop. but I like the subdued look, sora like they have been underground for a while and all the paint has come off. Since i dry brushed the metalic over the black primer all the joints and details are still visible. Everyone says I dont need to do a wash since im doing so little to the characters.

I agree that it could perhaps do with another highlight, something to bring out the blue a bit more and make it more vivid. But, it is an excellent colour scheme, and works very well with the white basing!

Finally, fair play for actually making a blog post on here, I probably wouldn't have after the 'welcome' you received on the other section of the forum.

Thanks. I am a new forum user and didn't know they migrated my post to another section.

I hope to take better quality pics so that you can see the paint scheme better. Altough it looks pretty subdued/ aged I think another layer of ice blue may/may not do well. I hope to update this blog on a weekly basis/ every other week.

also finally have all my warriors primed. Guess I'll be speed painting them this weekend so that I can have at least one whole area of my army done. Then I need to move onto my special characters. Also might pick up the ghost ark today, or should I pick up another annihalation barge.

I am using the overlord that comes with it and putting on a plain head and using them as my lord for my court. The seperate necron lord looks alot better for the main guy in my army.

Lord looks great, IMHO! I just think that the standard warrior could do with more 'pop'.
