Hey guys decided I'm going to start up a blog on the progress of my imperial guard and their current background (only on the fighting strength full background will be a different post somewhere else)

My imperial guard regiment is the Ryza/Catachan 101st airborne. The regiment was made in order to keep the catachan 101st to fighting strength from one platoon, one squad of storm troopers, lord commissar, and sentinel in doing so it added the Ryza 22nd's remains which was a whole other platoon, 3 Valkyries and an additional sentinel.

also just so i don't drive the sever and any mods insane I'm limiting the pictures to one of each unit and special characters.

Moore, Ok.

The Heavy Bolter looks kind of "Wonky".
I'd use a piece of debris or a barrel to mount the HB on and have him standing.

Great thread so far, I love how the army is coming together. There is one problem though...... Ryza is a forgeworld, and thus does not produce Imperial Guard troops, though it does produce Skittarii, but these would not be combined into one regiment with an Imperial Guard regiment. Other then that, keep up the good work.

Yes I realized that but can't really do much about it since I'm stuck with two more valks to build, after that I'll revamp the name and any background story to the army.

The heavy bolter team was made with the bits I had for a heavy weapon team, but I do plan on making it a bit better in terms of how the are posed.

And on a last note as soon as my camera's battery is charged enough I will take and post pics of any progress i have made, and a pic of the whole army that is made in one place.

I have finished the second valk as far as I can since there are pieces missing and I have to wait till I get them from GW. I will post pics tomorrow when I can.

Well I have finally finished building everything in less than a week since I got the 3 valks, 2 stormtroopers, and 1 battle force. With no further delay here are the pics to the sentinal, and the valk and detta I made finishing my army.

Next update is after i get all of this painted with an undercoat.
I will also make some background story to the regiment so the name is likely to change.

Finally got the Canopies from gw! Now I can finish the detta and valk. Other than that I'm going to be putting the undercoat on the models for the next few days.

Finally undercoated most of the models, and tomorrow I will post pictures and painting.

Finally had a day to just sit back and relax. In that day I've primed my army, and did two models in their entirety as a start to see if i want to go with the paint scheme i choose. Beyond any of the two hours I was painting, I'm changing the fluff to better suit how i play and paint scheme. It will still be an Air Calvary list, but past that everything else changed fluff wise, and I will make it a topic of it's own next time i have time to get on and post some progress.

Thank you, I'm trying to post the rest but the server is wanting to give me issues.. Once it does though you'll see my general paint scheme.

And for part two of today's work, here is my two models i did, and an inquisitor with his two bodyguards and without. As for the details behind him is this, it is a friend's model and that I offered to paint it, past that here is what i have to tell you of his history.
Inquistor Umarus was a interesting character to build for many reasons. First off, he was a combination of ideas presented by myself and the GM on a different type of Inquistor. We decided that he would be a Xeno Hybris Radical. This idea of a inquistor interested in and encouraging his retuine to find and use xeno artifacts presented alot of modeling opportunitys. It also presented a change from the norm for how some of the models would be built. I wanted the model to look imperial and demanding but yet have some less gothic features

Everything is looking awesome and in combat ready state! Is the valk now gonna be named "glory hound" ?

Cant wait to see the fluff changes ethier. I think the ideas we were discussing today will really give a new life to your regiment and allow you to expand upon your ideas and the way you can build up this force. Once its all done i believe its gonna be riding in style on the table.

Umarus is looking Bad then his older version. I like the way we've redone him too. I cant wait to see the new paint job

Finished my friend's Inquisitor for him, other than that just working on my models slowly.

Well I finished two squads. The sws and stormtroopers; the stormtroopers are dark because to the regiment they are but shadows when in an operation zone, and when not in it they can't even tell who the people are in the squad. Please do comment and give me your opinions on things, and if it's good and i go with it i'll make one of the important models or characters in it for one the person who does.

Not trying to rock the boat, but i thought catachans hated authority and by extention commissars. Old codex even went so far as to have a rule to frag commissars in it, iirc.

You love it you slags!

Yes I know, and because of other things like that I'm rewriting the background to my regiment, but that is for a different topic that when I can type up, I will link it to here for those who have taken an interest. Other than that thank you for the feedback

Its coming together Kato However from your picture of your storm troopers i believe they could use just alittle more paint or details in certain areas just to make them feel more "spec ops" than "all black"

Otherwise , everything is looking good and i like the way the SWS turned out. Keep up the good work

Thank you I'm also almost finished with another squad of vets, and I'll be posting it later tonight or tomorrow. Another thing is that I'm just trying to have a playable army not a Golden Deamon army yet.

Ps: if I got the name of the trophy wrong which I think I did, my bad I'm busy with to many things at the moment
