Bad CGI isn't just bad, it's fething terrible: (1:20-1:30)

Catwoman is now an OWS sympathizer: (0:50-1:04)

...and I'm not sure why there's now a Bathovercraft (1:50).

I'll still probably go see it, despite the fact that I think Bane is a terrible villain.

That's fair, but trailer CGI often is.

The use of "there's a storm coming" cliche made me wince admittedly

Who cares, at least it isn't CGI

It is almost as if the movie isn't out yet and they haven't told us everything.

As for Catwoman, she tends to support whoever she thinks will win. While occasionally good, she's in the Rogues Gallery and not the Heroes Gallery for a reason. I get the impression that Bane is going to use the rich as a scapegoat to take over the city, or perhaps punish it, if he is taking over where Ra's left off.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Saw someone mention this on Youtube...sounded crazy to me, but then...

Spoiler:
At 0:12 or so, there's a shot of fans holding letters spelling "ROGUES," the Gotham football team. The "R" looks a lot like Robin's symbol. I don't think it could be an accident...the swooshy top is the same and the leg is pointy, just like the Robin logo. Is that just a little wink to fans, or does that mean we might actually see Robin or at least Dick Grayson?

So you're saying there's a chance we'll see BatSharkRepellant?

Even the reboot of the Batman series (1990s) got absurd when they added the bat-bike and bat-plane. The new Batmobile was cringeworthy, but not unreasonable. Then they gave us the New Batbike. The addition of the Bathovercraft is taking a reasonably good idea (the new Batmobile) and running it off a cliff, dousing it in gasoline, lighting it on fire, running over it with a steamroller, then gakking on the remnants.

Sounds reasonable. Although I'm sure the residents of Gotham have got to be upset at the regular cavalcade of super-destructive supervillians rampaging through their town. Joker may not have been as bad as Ra's, but a merry band of escaped felons on the steps of City Hall will only further depress property values in Gotham City.

That is the "R" from Robin, though I imagine that is the only reference we will get as Nolan and Bale have both been pretty vocal about Robin not being a part of this version of Batman. IF you liked that, you'll love this:

Spoiler:
The pearl necklace Selina Kyle is wearing is the same one Bruce's mom was wearing when they got robbed. It may be just a symbolic coinicdence or it might literally be the same necklace, though they linger on that necklace for a bit. Someone put up screen caps of scenes from Begins and the trailer to compare them.

biccat wrote:So you're saying there's a chance we'll see BatSharkRepellant?

No, I'm saying it is odd to say you don't know why something would be there when at this point you don't know why any of it would be anywhere. My guess would be that it has something to do with the 2 Tumbler tanks he is chasing in that shot and that the Batmobile was blown up in the last movie. He might never have gotten it rebuilt, though obliviously the plans for the Tumbler got out becuase we see 3 of them in the trailer.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

The Bat Shark Repellant made sense (sort-of) in the context it appeared. That doesn't mean it wasn't a silly idea.

...because it's easier to build a hovercraft than a wheeled vehicle?

I'm sure there will be some clever backstory explaining why Batman is using a hovercraft. Whether it makes sense or not remains to be seen.

It might simply be a nod to the recent Batmobile that Damian/Dick used. One of Bruce's big puzzles was figuring out how to make a flying Batmobile.

They still have half a year of post-production to do so by then hopefully it will be cleaned up. It isn't unusual for a trailer to have pieces that aren't 100% yet, as I think someone above also pointed out.

I would say that the only thing in the trailer which bugged me was the batplane/hovercraft thing.

In the other two films all of the technology (barring maybe the phone-sonar system they had going in the dark night) has been at least relatively feasable, but it just seems a bit too far "out there" for me to be able to see it happening.

Which upsets me, because in all other regards the trailer and the plane/hovercraft are ridiculously awesome.
