VERY nice. Weathering is convincing, both in the finish and the intensity - it looks like it's been beaten to hell, but would still conceivably run. I'm excited to see more of this army.

Very nice and realistic feel you get there, how long did it take you to paint it?

Fantastic Job! I am curious how you got that drippy look. I have tried similar looks but have never gotten it to look as good.

Cheers oadie, it was decided to go for a "extreme" weathering look of an environment that alone would put the vehicle through hell. The project actual will most likely begin in earnest in 2 months time. So we have to wait a bit for infantry and what-not But im also excited to get on it, at the moment brainstorming on what to include and how to build different choices.

Hello tarnish, I am glad you liked it. Its a bit hard to estimate how long it took since I had to do it in short bursts over many days. But the tallarn khimera took me 10 hours, I think this was a bit faster. I would say eight or nine hours total, perhaps a bit more though.

Thanks UnCool Villain! Which drippy look do you mean? The streaks were done using oil paints. The oil-stains on the "tread wheels" (I dont know what to call them in english) were done by mixing acrylic inks with gloss varnish and glaze medium. If I recall it was vallejos "flesh", "purple" and "black".

You appear as a professional painter - the quality of the work proves that. You are excellent with your skills.

Doesn't seem 'weathered' enough to justify the Title of the thread though.. More inks/wash IMHO. But - you are very skilled - so YMMV.

Thank you akira5665, I appreciate the compliment.
I thought the weathering was a bit "over the top" (on purpose though). But to be honest I am kinda glad to hear that that it could use some more
I am wondering what I should try on the second one that will follow this (in the same army). Perhaps some small battle damage. I am not a fan of battle damage in general, but perhaps "some" could be added without changing the general feel.

Is there some "environment-caused" weathering I could add?

Hmm. Devlan mud might add something to it. I am hesitant to add suggestions to what is quite clearly a superlative job.

Perhaps some extra 'rusting' drips to the rivets? A touch of Mithril silver and a rust wash adds heaps to 'wear and tear'.

But - you are very skilled - so my posts may be 'drivel' !!

* Edited - your lenses are excellent BTW!!

Thanks for your tips akira5665, I think the rust streaks from rivets might work very well on this type of model! I need to try it out.

I am glad you like the lenses. Although they might not be that realistic, I am hoping they add some additional pop to the model from a "tabletop"-perspective through some additional color.

The best rule my group has is the 2' rule - if they look good from 2' or so - awesome work!!! ( And they would!!)

That is the tabletop standard we play with. Yours would be one of the best paint jobs I have seen.

The attention to detail on the damaged effects on the decals should be highlighted also (forgive the pun!)

Thanks again akira. I agree to the tabletop-rule. Additionally I think its good to have some details designed to represent the model from farther away also.
