From what I've read, it's my understanding that the World Eaters changed from their white/blue color scheme to red/brass after the Horus Heresy.

But did this start to happen during the HH? Was it before the incident at Skalathrax when Kharn split the legion?

Anyone know?

If i remember tha wolrd eaters colour started changing during the heresy as they were once discribed as red armoured during the siege of the emperors palace. Why they changed colours is a differant matter. You could ask the same about the thousand sons and the emperors children and the word bearers

The legend i believe is that they never really painted their armour red, it was merely turned red from all the blood. I'm not entirely sure it is recorded when they actually changed it but i'm sure it was one of these long dragged out things.

They changed it when Lorgar cracked the gaks with the Emperor before anyone knew they'd turned to Chaos IIRC.

Does anyone have the Visions of Horus Heresy book and can tell me if the World Eaters depicted change from white to red over the course of the Heresy?

They changed it because red and brass are the colors of the blood god. Same with the TS, EC, and to a lesser extent DG

The World Eaters reforged their armour at the foot of Khornes throne.

The Word Bearers struck a deal with the AdMech and had all new "studded" armour crafted for their legion.

Thousand Sons... not sure. Perhaps the warp changed them. Perhaps the current color scheme represents those who turnned to dust/ allied with Ahriman.
