Anyway any ideas on what the unit list for IG will look like?
They have guardsmen, commissars, Catachan Devils, sentinels, Leman Russes, Baneblades, and Manticores have been mentioned in some previews, but not yet shown. It's safe to assume they have a heavy weapons team for suppression, and a Chimera for transport. Guessing sentinels are their T1 vehicle, with Baneblades certainly being T3.
When the heck did i ask that

Have they released pictures of the wargear? I'd probably just get the Eldar one for no particular reason unless there's some really cool looking stuff you couldn't get elsewhere. Like a Thousand Sons helmet for chaos or something along those lines.
Typically the wargear stuff is just a colorswap of something anyone can get anyway so it probably isn't that special.
Especially since SP is destined to be quite mundane like the other 2 campaigns.

Does Retribution require DoWII or is it stand alone?

Considering the price it better be alone.

They've said it's stand alone.
They needed to make it stand alone because of the switch over to steam iirc.

The two games where awesome in their own right and had great stories. I have played many of RTS in my time, and the single player campaigns in both Dawn of War 2 and its expansion where probably the most fun I have had. I could be colored by the subject matter, but the stories are engaging enough.
The thing is, I don't know how much Retribution's Blood Ravens campaign will build off of the current story line, considering the major developments of Chaos Rising, I hope so.

I am just happy to have been too cynical about the campaigns. (And wishing I could lament being too cynical more often.)
Now, hopefully one of the new upgrades for Tyranids in TLS will be Bonesabres.

Without spoilers, from what i've read of the previews it does build off the Blood Ravens "good" chaos rising ending.
Someone you convinced is trying to find out more details about the truth of the naughty thing that you found out - which is why they are going into competition with all the other races as they struggle to find evidence before Exterminatus (sp?) destroys everything they need!

I like and dislike Dow2. The last stand is a lot of fun, when people dont rage quit on me. I haven't played campaign yet. The problem I have is the same one all my other friends have and thats the one build que and rather small pop cap. The first Dow you could spam all kinds of buildings and units and curb stomp someone. This one I can have 2 predators and 2 or 3 dread, and that's just not as fun lol

How haven't you played campaign yet? The campaign is solid in DoW2 and fantastic in Chaos Rising. The single player is way more distinctive from the multiplayer, as far as RTS games go. Not that I don't like the multiplayer, but campaign is where it's at for me.

yeah, you actually have to use tactics and cover to curb stomp someone not just make more units than them.

Ive only owned the game for about two weeks now. Multiplayer is where its at for me. The campaign could be good but you can only run through it so many times before it gets boring. Automatically Appended Next Post: I'm fine with strategy. Spamming your opposition into the ground is more fun and more my play style. Even spamming units requires a degree if strategy. If I max pop cap on base infantry can steam roll me with anti infantry or tanks. So its easier ti do but also easier to beat. If you wipe most or all my first wave then with only one build que its easy pickings.

They posted a clarification to make absolutely sure noone's confused. Not that it will help everyone, as some people are always confused.
We're happy to announce that registered users of our community site will be getting access to our Dawn of War II: Retribution beta. Below are the dates and details on who gets granted access to the beta:
January 31 – Beta access granted to select members of press, key community managers, and the THQ team.
February 1 – Access given to all DOW II Community site members that registered on our site before January 25 and to users who have pre-ordered the game on Steam.
February 8 – Access given to all Steam users who have bought a Dawn of War game through Steam.
We hope this clears up any confusion, and we look forward to your feedback during our beta.

Well, some IG reveals have happened today; a video on IGN showing units such as the Ogryrns, Manticore and Commissar.
Disappointed that the Inquisitorial-Slant hasn't been shown or talked about at all. Why hold back everything about Inquisitor Andrastia?

Woot woot beta! I just signed up on the DoW II community so hopefully I'll be getting the beta soon. Just to be clear when you register that's all you need to do right? I guess even if I miss out there I'll still get it by the 8th since I bought the other games off steam.
Lastly are there any pre-order bonuses we are aware of? Or is all extra content part of the collector's edition and race packs?

Really? You're wondering why they're "holding back everything" about likely the most in-depth and most fun campaign for the game?

Still 40 days till release. THQ prefers to a more gradual buildup than to release everything at once. Though they're failing at it in the Homefront game, in this one, they're doing pretty good.
