Some awesome projects going on. This thread has inspired me to take the plunge. Now to figure out where to start. Basically starting with nothing, but not super interested in the starter set. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.v

The daemons and undead "start collecting" boxes are relatively new compared to the other three. If it is all the same to you then grab the nurgle box - it has a hero, a regular infantry unit, a small pestering unit and a heavy cavalry unit.
P.S. (not to mention they're included in the campaign books so you'll get heavy use out of them if the Realmgate wars story is your thing)

I've looked at them. None of them are really speaking to me yet.

The Nurgle one has been the one that has been jumping out at me the most, but I don't want to jump too quickly.

check out the swap threads, folks are letting lots of armies go pretty cheap and they are prebuilt mostly.

Wow Matt! Great as always. Your Skaven army is certainly coming along. Just in time for the new battletome perhaps ;-) are you theming the Skaven army or just doing a general force with the various sub factions included?

I did Pestilens as a separate force - I did consider doing each of the clans with their own paint scheme, but figured that way lay madness. So, the rest have variations of the red and grey (for example, the Stormvermin are all red, Clan Eshin are all grey, and Skryre is a mix!).

I ran Skaven for years in WHFB (6E-8E), and have been sorely tempted to redo them with tasty new plastics for AOS. Stormvermin are my home boys, so I'd be looking at like 2x 30 of them - which is like nothing in 8E terms Pretty sure I'd just need a proper Gutter Runners kit / handful of models to convince me ... - Salvage

Finished this guy time so I can start a Death army with the malignants box, a necrosphinx and hopefully the new skeleton horde box coming out. The fiance has decided she likes the vampire theme.
Anyway, this guy can be a mercenary for her or for my Stormcast Eternals.

Just the stormvermin, stormfiends, thanquol and whatever, and any of the newest plastic hero, the army would look cool as hell.

@Goddin: Beauty! Did you go for the javelin rune son for aesthetic reasons or for rules?

Thats just how crack addicts say it, and skaven are crack, first its just a few models that look cool, then its "well an IoB set wouldnt be bad" then " I really like these monks" before you know it, you have almost 2000 unpainted barely built skaven around you

Haha, and I definitely have more than would be considered "for personal use" :-P
I finally get to post another completed project in here, my Vulkite Bezerkers! These guys took aaaaages, doing all the NMM gold and metal was a nightmare, but I am happy how they came out. I was spurred on with a mad final week to get ready for Deathwatch Overkill lol. Check them out!

Thanks guys! The red moustaches were chosen to try and tie the beards with the mohawks, feel free to like or dislike them :-)
There's a few with orange moustaches too. I think if I was ever to add more to them (don't plan to, but you never know lol) I would have more oranges to balance it out a little.

I went for the runeson with javelin for the aesthetic. But I looked at his rules and they weren't terrible, so I didn't fret over the choice too much. He's a bit of a ranged threat now, and if I have troops in front of him he can attack over them nicely.

Getting some work in on my undead, nothing finished yet but:
I like the ethereal effect, at least.
EDIT: also a closer look at the in progress test batch of skeletons, which will be finished before the rest of the engine, as I'll be testing out basing and other ideas on them:
