Next one off the workbench - I'm plundering the pet supplies section again, with an environment dome made from a hamster igloo.

I can't believe it took me a second to see the paint bottles.
Or should that be,
Nice work converting those paint bottles!
(It took me even longer to see the Coat d'arms pot)

Getting some paint on my Goliath juves... Complicated by the fact that I started this gang five or six years ago, and don't appear to have recorded what paint I used anywhere, so there's some guesswork involved.

Strong Tone wash done on the juves, so they just need some final detailing and bases (which I'll do on the whole gang at once when everyone's otherwise done). Also started work on the new heavy, and transplanted the rest of the gang onto Maelstrom's Edge bases (for arc of sight marks).

The therapeutic pool cures all kinds of skin conditions and afflictions. Just, whatever you do, do not stay in for more than thirty seconds.
Oh and when you shower off make sure you remove all of it.

A little more sculpting done this morning... For those not familiar with the original Necron range, they were fairly limited. I thought it would be fun to expand my 2nd ed Necrons with some of the options that were introduced with the 3rd ed codex and later. This was an attempt to create a Heavy Gauss Cannon for the original Necron Destroyer. We'll see how successful it was once I can get it printed...

Test print. It's just a fraction too large, and some unfortunate support placement left some damage on the print when I removed them, so I have adjusted the scale a tad and tweaked the supports for a second test. Not too shabby so far though, I think.

After some feedback elsewhere, I decided the cannon was just a bit too long, so shortened it up a bit. It's still long enough that its recognisably different to the regular cannon even when they're not side by side, which was my main concern with it size-wise, so I think that'll do.
Also started on some backwards-compatible rules updates...

Slight detour to the left this week, to experiment with dipping models with wood stains...
The trooper was painted in basic colours and then dipped in charcoal wood stain. The drones were just sprayed with army painter Platemetal, and then dipped in the same stain.

insaniak,
My wife would kill me if she suspected I might poach some of the plastic plants to make terrain.
Really like the Paint Bottle tower, I think that may inspire me to make a radio tower now...just need a good idea for the dish.
