Huh. I like that GCPS monobike. I have the Enforcer one though, so I'm not really sure if I need another.

Some infos from the Open Day:

Next Deadzone Containment Protocol should be bigger with a focus on campaign and advancing the story
Z'zor will be the next playable faction

Deadzone XL (WIP Titel) is currently tested to replace FireFight and be more in line with Deadzone and Warpath regarding suppression, using exploding D8 and vehicles need command points to activate to keep the focus on Infantry

Alpha Rules should be available soon for testing

So Firefight is just going?
That didn’t last long..

Makes me unsure on doing the KS’s in these situations.
I backed Warpath, for long term support, but if they just move on from things (particularly with the amount of systems and such.
(Pretty much happened with Xtreme, Mars Attacks. Not sure how Walking Dead is doing support wise..?)

For Mars Attacks, if sales are not high enough to pay for the License it is better to stop it

Walking Dead is doing fine and both games will get expansions (the Wargame and the Story Game)

FireFight is a different story, it was written to please the 40k players during Alpha/Beta who were not happy with Warpath, for whatever reason and wanted the game to be more like 40k, and most of them were gone after 8th released (and those who liked it here around, jumped on the similar Star Wars Legion later)

So we were left with a Game between Deadzone and Warpath that did not really fit (as it is a 40k/Warpath Hybrid), made for a target group that never really wanted to play in the first place.
And a lot of players here see it more as a standalone game and not like natural progression from Deadzone to Warpath.

Warpath and Deadzone are there to stay, and Deadzone looks like to be Mantic's Workhorse next to Walking Dead

Now we just get rules that fit the Deadzone (who asked for larger games) playerbase, which is a welcomed change

There is a Little missunderstanding here. Deadzone XL(better name pending) is a project from a Deadzone-rules-comitee-member(Andrew Sharp). It isn t officially replacing firefight, but it may as well be. I personally don t see mantic updating the Firefight rules in the near future, while the Warpathrules just got an update. And I personally would prefer a full fledged Deadzone XL(played it openday) instead of updating Firefight anyway.
all points of kodos stand...

a bit offtopic:
Only Mars Attacks bit the bullet, but got rules to Transition into Deadzone. Like Kodos said that seems because of the licencingcost to sale ratio.
DB Xtreme is still available. It's basicly a complete game. no problem there.
All 3 Walking Dead lines will get releases next year it seems. The 2 Tabletops get (at least 4) shared Factionboxes with a slight advantage to "All out War"(the older storydriven game) contentwise because of scenarios in the box you oviously won't be able to use in Call to Arms(the newer Wargame).
Here is Negan will get an expansion end of next year.
And if the schedule of (non-kickstarted) releases is anything to go by, Walking Dead is doing great. (2 Games, 1 big box Expansion, 3 Boosters plus 3 repacked Factionboxes in the last year)

thx for clearing that up

and I also agree that FireFight by itself won't go away, because it is sold as a book bundle with Warpath

But, we already got rules for bigger Deadzone games and expanded Battlefields, going further and increase the size to a full scale Wargame would be the next logical step.

Deadzone XL sounds interesting, do we know any more about it?

I know Xtreme hasn’t gone, but it is just that, there.
Which is a shame, more support for it would have been good.
A 2.0 as it were. New teams, are they usable in it?

Deadzone is my favourite smaller style game, it beats out Kill Team (which I do like too) mechanics wise.
As long as that stays then I’m happy really.

Warpath, I never really got to play, as it didn’t take off round here, but it’s still a shame to see a version of it disappear away.

Still, KoW seems to be striding forward greatly. I only have 1.0 and 2.0, and again never got to play enough.
But considering it’s all there for me with possible players, it’s all good

Well like i mentioned Andrew Sharp(Weight of Fire) is doing it. He said the rules would go online this week but i forgot where. Facebook i guess.

No grid
48x48
exploding D8s
Long/Short Action System
alternate unit activation
Warpath command dice (vehicles cost dice to activate) other than that special commands like DZ-WP
"+" command dice can be saved for next round (need to decide after rolling, before round begins)
troop based (single casualty removal)
objective based
suppression more of a factor since units more survivable(compared to Firefight)

Was really fun

Lists on openday as i remember them:

Enforcer
Captain
1xEnforcer (5 with 1 Rocketlauncher)
1xAssault-enforcer (5)
2xPathfinder (5)
1xPeacekeeper (5 with 1 Burstlaser)
1xJebikes (4 with 1 Rocketlauncher)
1x Interceptor

Forgefather
Huscarl
2xSteelwarriors (5 with 1 Flamer)
1xBrokkr (5)
2xIron Ancestor (2 Cannons variant)
1xForgeguard (5 with 1 Rockertlauncher)
1xBrandr Assault Tank

4 command dice (each), remember you can save dice for later turns and still roll 4 dice each round

DBX was never a thing. It was just fancy packaging for new DBO teams. Even DBX teams got DBO rules before they got DBX rules.

Posters on ignore list: 36

40k Potica Edition - 40k patch with reactions, suppression and all that good stuff. Feedback thread here.

Gangs of Nu Ork - Necromunda / Gorkamorka expansion supporting all faction. Feedback thread here

Sounds about right

Deadzone 24x24, up to 24x48
"D-XL" 48x48
Warpath 48x72

With a size between 1000-1500 points and ~5 units + support

I really was looking forward for Kill Team, as a better tournament experience but it never took that place here
and I never felt for it to replace Deadzone for playing at home it doesn't feel "right"

So I feel a little hype coming up with a Deadzone XL
