The world got an unobstructed view of the Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley for the first time since the Civil War on Thursday as a massive steel truss that had surrounded the first sub in history to sink an enemy warship was finally removed.

I though tthe consensus for the caus eof sinking was that toxic vapor inside these early submarines grew to such a level that everyone was basically gassed to death.

I didn't realize there was still a debate. Interesting,

I stopped by a museum for the CSS Hunley when I was in Charleston, SC last year, and it was just amazing. For not being an industrialized nation the CSA was pioneering massive leaps in technology surrounding warfare.
