I decided it was time to paint something different. For a while I was considering Chaos - but then the Dark Angels made a timely comeback. The Dark Angels was my favorite army back in 2nd edition. It fell upon me to play the space marines that came with the box 20 years ago. First they got painted as a Blood Angels army, but at some point I fell in love with the robes and characters of the DA.
This will not be a huge army. I picked the DA because I love the models, but it will still be playable. The plan is to start out with around 1000 points and most of those models are already bought. In addition to the Dark Vengeange minis I have a Devestator squad from earlier and bought the new Terminators and a box of DA veterans.
The rhino and Ravenwing bike in the pic is all I have left from my original space marine force from 20 years ago. The rhino will be an interresting project; it will serve as both a looted wagon for my waaagh and a DA rhino (hopefully I can make this work...).
Any and all C&C is warmly welcome as I start a new adventure Cheers!
Below is the old post with everything from my Ork army. It is not finished or abandoned; simply 'resting'.
Spoiler:
Getting back into painting after the summer. This is my Waaagh! that I will be gaming with this winter. In the picture the models to the left are done and the ones to the right are in various states of modelling/painting. When I get down to it I will have a plan and finish it mob by mob so that there will be progress.
First off is to complete the gretchin mob and then possibly go for some vehicles.
12 ‘Ard boyz – finished
Trukk – finished
16 shootaboyz – finished
15 sluggaboyz - finished
18 Gretchin – finished
Bikerz - finished
Ghazghkull Thraka - started
Warboss – started
Nobz – started
12 Lootas – started
Deff Dread – started
Deffkoptas – started
Battlewagon – plasticardwip
As you can see there is alot of half-finished orks there... The idea is to have both fast Evil Sunz and 'eavy Bad Moons. I like both the colors and I get to do some varied painting.

Thanks guyz, I'll keep posting. Allthough at irregular intervals. It depends on time allowed.
Your right; there can never be enough orks!!! And I like my orks colorful and crispy. Perhaps I'll add more mud and weathering to my vehicles - but the main colors I will keep 'cleanish'.
Thanks I'm happy with the grot on the base, but the real challenge was the grot peaking out of the hatch.
It was good fun to build and paint this 'kan. Hopefully I can finish more of them soon. An idea would be to put something original on each of their bases. What should I do next? Perhaps a Space Marine running for cover? In my games they often do...
Here is my plan for the 'eavy stuff. The Batllewagon will be much larger than in this picture. Imagine a cab, platform, ramp and more dakka on top of the hull. They are all 'looted' from my local gamingclub (trades and paintjobs). I let them rest in soap for 14 days and scrubbed them with an old toothbrush.
But before I start messing with more projects I will finish more of the horde. Here are some pictures of the Bad Moons mob. Unfortunatly I didnt know the rules well enough when I glued them together. So there are some sluggaboyz and some shootaboyz. In my friendly matches they'll let it pass and I play it as one huge mob. If I get to join any tourneys it will have to be 2 mobs I suppose.
The cloth and leather here is mostly done. The guns will get another coat of Tausept Ochre so they match the metal colors of my killakan (like the nob at the front).
Automatically Appended Next Post: There was a request for a more detailed picture of the Killakan. Here it is:

I said I would not start new projects before I finished some that are already started... But I cant help myself. When I find something new I get stuck in and start cutting.
Really looking good on here. cool yellowy creamy scheme on the bad moons. i like it and is there a list or are you working just on w/e you want?
everything looks awesome regardless and i really really like that grot on the kanz base very nice

So far there is no 'list'. I keep trying things out and loosing 99% of my games So I'll keep going and build/paint whatever suits me any day.
We are having a tournament in a few weeks - another chance for me to loose more games What I will do is to build a 'fun' army for it. The idea is simply 'more nutty stuff the better!' Waaagh! There will be a Warphead, Grootzookas, a homebuildt Battlewagon with shootaboys and this skorcha:
This is my first plasticard attempt and I'm pretty happy with it so far. There is a biker at the front, a heatshield to protect him, an engine case, and some trakks. What is missing is the skorcha itself. Not quite sure how to build that yet. Also I think I need to put more stuff at the front... It looks so tiny compared to the rest. Possibly some armor-plates at the front wheel or something.
What do you think? How do I make the front of this look good? And how to build a skorcha?
Looking good! For the skorcha, don't you have a leftover from the kila kan set? The front is OK IMO, it happens with the "bike + track unit" design. If you feel it's a problem, you could integrate the driver's compartment a bit more into the hull.

Yes, C.Khaine. I got lots of spare stuff to use for the actual skorcha. But it needs to be supported by something, and it needs to be longer so that it is sort of balanced, AND it needs to be held by an ork...
Its easy enough to slap a skorcha on top - but I want it to look good too
Use the skorcha arm from the kan and invert the the flamer nozzle. Alternatively, a spare grabbin'klaw from a BW might make a nice mechanical arm to attach a flamer too, and it contains all the bits to be operated by an ork.
A skorcha can easily be lenghtned by adding a longer tube running towars the flamer mouth.

So anyways - I'm not one to work on a project for too long before I find something else that draws my attention. Therefore I've decided to post my 1500 list for the tournament and build/paint it systematically. Hopefully it will be easier to complete then. Yes; I realize this is opposed to what I've said earlier. But so be it. I'll get on it tomorrow night (no promises).
Here is tonights work on the Battlewagon. 'How would a Big Mek build a deffrolla?' 'He'll use any scraps he can find lying around!' So that's what we'll do then.
Here it is put together. If you squint and look at it sideways you can imagine a cab on the top (where the eraser is but bigger), a turret for the Killkannon (where the cap is), a 'fence' or something odd around the top, and if you look really REALLY close you can imagine the red paint job as well!

I'm checking eagerly your progress mate.
Awesome stuff!
I don't like to use much of plasticard cause i do everything without a rule and pen and usually is a mistake. Your plasticard is pretty good!
I suggest to use the grabba klaw arm for the scorcha, is an amazing bit!

Subject: TaWaaaghs random orkiness - now with more plasticard - and BW WIP
Thank you CK. I have some good ideas for it (I hope), but it has been put on hold for a bit. In order to finish my 1500 points of Waaagh I will work systematically and go through all the mobs first. If time runs out I can always borrow a BW from a friend.
