Hi everyone

here is a commission i did from forgeworld it is the KHORNE DAEMON PRINCE AND HERALD

I loved painting this one, and i added my own twist on the skin tone, i did this before on a forgeworld bloodthirster and it came out awesome, so i did it again, and i added a bronze worn look to the metal, anyhow hope you all like it, heres the link to the gallery please comment and rate

cheers people as i say i did it to a forgeworld bloodthirster a couple of years back, and it has to be the finest model i ever painted, and its sooo annoying i cant find the pictures i took of it before it went on ebay, i think they were on my old computer and have been lost :( ill do another one in the future tho i enjoyed it loads

Nice work! To my taste i would like to see more done with his eyes and his axe. But overall its consistent and a lovely job.

yeah, i felt the axe did need a bit more, but its been sold now, enjoyed doin it tho again thanks for comments

Very nice work. There used to be a Forgeworld Bloodthirster on their website in similar colours and I always loved it, but it's not there now. Shame.

Thats a very unique (and quite frankly ridiculously cool) way of painting this fella. Can you elaborate on how you went about painting the skin? Same goes for the red ... I always have huge issues with red, for some reason ....

Skin

- Basecoat codex grey (leaving dark receses).
- Using a drybrush, 50/50 codex and fortress grey.
- working the mixture more and more in favour of fortress grey, using less and less paint on the drybrush each time getting lighter with the strokes.
- Using drybrush extremely lightly mixing skull white into the mix picking out the fine details.
- Finally using the tiniest amount of skull white on the drybrush, just brushing over the skin to give it a final detailed look.

Red

- Red gore base coat
- Blood red highlight
