So, I've been collecting and playing legion for almost 1,5 year now. And I have about 250-300 points worth of models.

But, not a lick of paint to be seen except 2 or 3 test models.

I just really can't seem to figure out what I want them to look like (And I'm an arse painter).

So, purely out of interest, what kind of colours would you like to see on a Legion army?

Just remember, I suck at painting, so anything hard will not be happening Also, I'm lazy.

What about green with black scales that have red or yellow edging to them? -- close to Japanese in feel

I would say look at some Tyranid schemes if your searching for inspiration since they have a similar set up to the models (ie: fleshy parts with carapace coverings). Alternatively google all different types of reptiles or reef fish as they all can have some great contrasting colors that would look great on models

I found a nice easy colour scheme that works quite nicely (IMO) it's pretty easy to do, I did it with GW paints.

All I did was undercoat it white. The used the new(ish) blue ink all over apart from the wing and mouth membranes which I used the purple ink (leviathan I think it's called) for the wings.

Just did the scales brown and then a quick yellow dry brush. Then used icey blue to highlight the body. And tentacle pink for the membranes.

Comes out like this. I like it and its very simple.

Mhm, that looks quite nice, think I'll be using the same technique, albeit different colours.

Cool! Glad to help. What colours are you thinking of using?

Some form of brite-ish green, and brown/black/greys for the "rocky" parts and such. I'm thinking, frogs.

Though I have no clue what to with my elves.

I'm doing mine with a white basecoat and then using blue washes to build up the color on it.

When I get around to building a Legion force, I'm going with the Hive Fleet Kraken scheme.

Get an off white/cream colored primer. Army Painter makes one called Bone or Skull White that is perfect.

Black out all the carapace, then give everything a quick wash of either sepia or mud, and paint some red streaks on the carapace. Throw out some quick highlights here and there for things like eyes or tongue, and boom. Quick and painless

That's pretty much what I did. Washes/ink straight onto the white undercoat

Looks great vleer.

The bone to orange highlighting pops very nicely. Looks more organic than you would expect.

I painted mine to resemble something like from The Cave or Priest with the translucent skin. I wanted the adapted to nocturnal life since they kinda fit it with no eyes etc.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.
