So not sure when it's due for release, possibly in the upcoming Imperial Armour book, but Forge World are releasing an amazing looking new 40K Chaos model.
On the surface of it, it looks like a possible Chaos Contemptor, only bigger and stockier, think Dreadknight sized. It's hard to describe but it looks mean! It's also not actually a Dreadnought of sorts, it's actually a Chaos Daemon Engine!
It's called a 'Decimator', although I believe there is another version planned called a 'Dessicator'. Not sure if this is a separate entry depending on weapon loadouts however, or another unit with a slightly different statline and USR's.
There are 5 weapon arms currently planned, the basic loadout being 2 x CCW's. I believe there is another CCW option (a type of chainfist thing) and 3 gun options as it stands. Don't remember the name of one of them but I know one is called a 'Butcher Cannon' and the other is a 'Chaos Conversion Beamer' probably with it's own funky name!
Sorry I can't bring you any more news than that, but when you see it you'll realise why I think it's so damn cool!
That's all folks!

Enticing rumor. I wish we could know more, but that sounds like all the info we could possibly get without leaked pictures.

The rumor matches up with the idea of a "Contemptor" Chaos Dreadnought.
Especially considering that the armament is exactly what the Contemptor variant for Chaos has.

I'll take Luna's side on this. A chaos contemptor would be so easy to make that it would be lunacy to forgo it and have this dreadknight sized model instead. The best business sense would be to make both, and this rumor does not match the size of a contemptor.

I'd put a wager on it
Can (or already have given you a name), but can't give you a release date
It's definately not a Chaos Contemptor, it's a completely separate unit entry. I believe a model for the Chaos Contemptor will be getting it's own model. I used it as an example to roughly demonstrate the look and the size difference.
But having seen it, I'd gladly place a wager! I'm confident that FW wouldn't get to this stage on a model, and produce 5 weapon arms just to scrap it!

Back to OP!
To confirm with what you saw,
The unit name doesnt matter, but its not the chaos version of comtemptor right?
And what is this new unit ( and variant )'s relationship with Chaos Dreadnought? If any?
Because my impression from it was, its almost like GW says ok no more Chaos dreads, we call them THIS

It's definately NOT the Chaos Contemptor, that was the first question I asked. Was told that it isn't and that it's a brand new Daemon Engine.
I don't believe it has any relationship with the Chaos Dreadnought, other than the fact that on the face of it, it's a machine that has 2 legs and stands upright.
But I've literally posted everything I know, so anything else is just best guesses from what I've seen/been told.

Hmmm, does sound like the Chaos Contemptor, especially with the Butcher cannon. The Chaos Contemptor could well be possessed (in other words a demon engine) which might explain why it does not shoot its own troop in the back.

I also am surprised they would make a model so similar to the Contempter in terms of loadout.
But, I love robots, so look forward to it.

There are already images out of a Khorne Contemptor Dreadnaught produced by Forgeworld. That goes all the way back to Games Day UK. But, it wasn't clear whether it was a conversion of the standard contemptor or a completely new, independent model with its own casing. EDIT: I lied apparently they were able to get this info "only a conversion, no release date on the genuine one" but who knows?

I'm suspicious, since, while "Decimator" sounds like a pretty typical scary-sounding destructive name. A "decimator" would be something that destroys everything. "Dessicator," on the other hand, would be something that dries everything out. (Like, drying beef jerky, or dried raisins or prunes for snacks)
Even Matt Ward wouldn't come up with such an absurd name (not looking to start an anti-Ward flame war, just sayin').

Ah, I see you know the true original meaning of that word. Funny how it came to mean destroying most of something when it originally meant destroying (or rather killing) only 10% of something (Roman military units).

Technically Commissars still decimate units (units of 10 that is HARHARHAR)
Back on topic, it would be nice to see more 'daemon' engines as opposed to dread variants. They do have a forge out in the warp with all those supposed defenders and engine hosts and what not.

Always makes me think of coconut. Maybe a Contemptor made from coconut shells?
Also, perhaps OP/ OP's source meant "Dissector"?

Nope, I couldn't draw it.
Nope, nobody mentioned if it was god specific.
Definately is a Daemon Engine called a Decimator (and possibly also a Dessicator)

Hmm, I'm sure a multi-melta or warp flame firing weapon could dry out enemies pretty nicely! Even keeps them nice and heated afterwords, perfect for those long trips with the Bloodthirster.
