I will start this off with my shrikes.
I was playings against SM 1500 points, He told me that Shrikes where just guardsmen with more wounds. But he then called them OP after I assualted hit TH/SS termis and killed all 5 of them. though the boneswords was the Most valuable wargear for them.. but he did fail 5 leadership teasts...with 3d6.

An SM player once told me before a game,

"Dude, Banshees suck."

He thought otherwise afterwards.

I was playing with my Dark Angels, and a fellow strolled up and said "I heard that the Dark Angels were actually Chaos, and The Fallen were the good guys being hunted down."

I said "UH OH you know to much..."

A guy said I must be queer because I likes playing with Baals. (BA)

He changed his mind after three of them outflanked his foot guard

Dark Eldar Covens - we aren't as fast, we aren't as shooty, BUT we can take a hit.

Then three jumped out of the webway portal together (lucky reserve rolling) and nuked his guard blobs, powering up my wych cult no end


I've been told that burnaboyz are no threat to power armour/termie armour, and that i was being a fething fool for driving a trukk full of them directly towards his TH/SS termies, as they could never hurt them..

The greasy patch on the floor where the termies had been standing told otherwise..


I've been told that Grots are only there for the yuks, and then one sniped Calgar's shiny picard-do and put him down hard.

Hello? It's not like some secret knowledge there.

After seeing my list, which clearly states "Ghaz WITH Kommandos and Snikrot":

"Pfft, they'll all die before they get across the table."

Whether or not they are correct, just about every time I hear a gamer giving unsolicited (and all-too-often high intensity) advice about how x unit they have is better than the y unit their opponent does it comes off sounding dumb as can be. These emphatic displays of attempted geek dominance are as cringe-inducing to behold as they are unfortunately common.

Sorry about the mini-rant, I witnessed another one of these recently and couldn't help but think that displays like this are one of the big reasons why may folks think of gamers as socially inept.

I played some guy and was using chaos at first he insulted me saying no one good brings chaos to a tournament. The. My outflanking 5 man choosen with 5 melta guns and a combo melta on the rhino pop out and say hi to his two psyfilmen dreads lol He made me get out the codex cause I had to have been cheating.

I was playing just last night and I must have had at least 5 people come up to me and ask "Are those Sisters of Battle?" or "What are they?"
And yes, I was using official GW Sisters of Battle figures and had the WD codices right there on the table.

My roommate asked me "why are you taking spawn?? Spawn suck!" I then double lashed his high point, high shooting HQ out of cover, charged with spawn, tied him up so he couldn't shoot first turn so I could safely rush my army up the table and stomp him. He still said spawn had no place, ever, in an army. Situational my friend, situational. 80pts to tie up a 400pt shooting squad through their shooting phase? Comedy gold.

I was told by a Necron player at my local store "you'll never spawn more then 25 guants" with the FIVE tervigons i was running. 200 models later he threw his dice and quit.

I was once in my flgs and i saw someone with some spikey eldar and i was like "what are they?"

He told me, showed me the stats, i laughed and said i'll destroy those.

We gamed...

I got tabled...

Thus began my hatred and love of dark eldar.

And that was the stupidest thing i have heard asked about an army. So if you have never seen dark eldar before Don't ask.

It was awile back when I just started playing IG, and I would run a 10 man stormtrooper squad with 2x plasma. I was fighting another IG player, I belived him to be more experenced them me. He had said that stormtroopers suck and 10 man squad is the worst well at bottem of turn 5 I still had a LRBT my CCS and my stormtroopers left. He had 2 vet squads and a vandetta with 1 lasconnon left. my stormies ended up tieing the game for me because they wiped a vet squad out off his objective thus tieing the game.

I was firstly playing my guard... at the start of the game he was Dark eldar, I was guard, he insisted that he'd win by turn 4. 3 turns later my 50 man unit of conscripts were still 50 men, most other things were intacts and his army nowhere to be seen... he at the end of the game said 'I swear that's cheating, I'm never playing your guard again' I showed him the rules and he sulked away.

Second time I was BT and my opponent said ' oh there outdated, they won't do very well'... 4 turns later again, his army gone and I lots a weapon, not even a guy, just a weapon. He hated me after thaat and PROPERLY sulked

I was playing the third round in a GT tourney. The opponent asked if he "could play someone else because Tau are too easy and not a challenge." I nearly tabled him and he was supposedly kicked out of the store due to swearing and throwing dice after the 3rd turn when he realized I was going to win the match.

"You're going to try and out-shoot me with Space Wolves? I'm playing imperial guard. You need to learn to play your army right and try to assault me."

Tabled him turn 4 with shooting.

Also, at 'Ard Boyz:

"You're playing an almost entirely Wolf Rider list, with just some long fangs. I don't think you'll really have a way to kill my two land raiders."
Tabled on turn 4, with only 3 terminators left pulling the game from turn 3 to 4.

At my FLGS, I've heard a lot of people say that my Wolf Court was way too points-heavy, and I'd be screwed in every game because they'd just die in shooting before they ever got to charge. Then I tell them what they can do:

"Wait, what do you mean they have a 20" charge?!" (6" move plus d6" run plus 12" charge)
"Wait, what do you mean they have base toughness 5?!"
"Wait, what do you mean they each have 6 attacks on the charge?!"

I have tabled many, many opponents with my Wolf Court.

Them: Cool , Do they all have clown make up?
ME: If by clown make up you mean black eyeliner then Yes, yes they do.

WTF?

Puhhh pathfinders suck......... ten minutes later his hive tyrant had dissapeared somehow.... Hmmmmm i wonder

Geez. 12 pages of cringe-worthy reading can change a guy's view on our little game...

Right after 8 Dire Avengers + bladestorm, dual catapult exarch hopped out of a Wave Serpent in front of an enemy objective held by 5 assault marines:
"What is their toughness?"
"3"
"What about armour saves?"
"4+"
"Ha, next turn these assault marine will rip through them" (or something along those lines)

One Bladestorm later and there were no more assault marines.

Those Terminators didn't have to make any rolls due to Boneswords.
