So Im having a tough time deciding between two themes.

1. "Wasps"
Black armor with yellow plating.

2. "Winter"
Ice blue or Hawk turquoise armor with white helmets.

From what I understand its incredibly hard to paint both yellow and white well, but I love those color combinations so I thought I'd give it a go anyway. But please provide tips on how to build up a nice color!
And I would be very grateful if someone could link me to that army painter thingy where you can try out different color combinations, my google-fu was weak it seems.

Thanks!

Yeah, winter here too, looks a lot cleaner than wasp does, and your shading for the white is brilliant!

My Striking Scorpions are done in a scheme very similar to the wasp idea.

Personally I think the winter look would look better as an entire army scheme.

Another winter vote here. White is easier to do than yellow and it doesn't look as busy as the wasp theme.

+1 for the winter. Looks soo much harder to do but is well worth the effort.

When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

Defiantly the white one.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I would pull for the winter one as well. One of the great things about eldar though is you can have different schemes in the same army. There is no reason you can't have the blue winter scheme be the primary look, while the wasp colors make out your fire dragon squads.

Go for winter! That avenger looks absolutely beautiful!

For the white I'd suggest an undercoat of Astronomican Grey, its a very bright grey and covers very well, so you'll need less coats of white

I agree with the general consensus here, Winter looks best.

The wasps is interesting. But I much prefer the look on the exarch vs the trooper fire dragons. To make that scheme pop though, your going to need another layer of highlights on the yellow.

The winter scheme, is really sharp as is. The level of detail pops better. I'd go with Winter.

Mix them, do blue with yellow accents, or yellow with ble accents, working white into both schemes.....blue and yellow look great together, and I am sure could be pulled off on Eldar models.

Okey thanks everyone, Winter theme it is. Probably wont be near that guys level of painting but at least its a goal to aim for.

Now to decide if I'm going to make it easy on myself and undercoat white or stick with black as I think the end result is better that way.

Sorry but this is not my models, just some I found with my google-fu that I liked. Though I know the guy who made the Winter theme is from Sweden so maybe I should look him up and just steal his models.... muhaha
