Well 2 warhammer 40k armies arn't enough for me (black templars and orks) so i decided to make some sprue crons.
So far i've made 7 worriors, a necron overlord, and his comand bardge!
what should i try to create next?
and what do you think of the models/(sprue piles) themselves? are they decent for some friendly game?

Im not sure if youre doing this on purpose but this is a hilarious troll on Necrons. If you could make a gun tip, say marine bolter or ork slugga it would look a little better. I would happily play your army, once you finished building it. Kinda reminds me of Atari enemies from a few games. Keep it up!

I was gonna say, paint them all in black and bright green. Make a GW box monolith, and cover the "portal" with 1's and 0's.

These are really cool.

My two boys have shown interest in 40k, and I have tried to teach them how to play. But they can't control themselves enough not to handle models to roughly. They are a bit to young. They want to just use them like they would their green army men.

When I model they want to help. So I let them have my snap together ones to play with. That kept them busy for a bit, but I know they want to use the glue. While I want to encourage them. I just can't bring myself to hand over some unassembled models to be the learning experience they need. They are just to valuable to me.

Building some of these "Spur Crons" is a great idea for letting them be included in the hobby. Anyway they come out will be better then loosing a 4 to 5 dollar model. Afterward they can play with them any way they want, and I wont be wincing and cringing at every moment. Once they have broken a few of them, and have to fix them. They may just learn that they need to be more careful with the models when handling them, unlike their toy soldiers.

I think this will be a fun project. Heaven knows I have enough spurs, and bases to donate to the cause. Thanks for sharing these with us.

@ PC Veteran, Glad i could help! and i want to say that i did not come up with the idea of spruecrons (some other penny pincher did).

Now for the goods!

First off I made a ghost ark; it's a bit different from what the gw models look like but hey! They are made out of living foam : thumbsup: and therefore are allowed to be different. If you count all the necron warriors/immortals then you'll notice that I’ve made another one!
And last but not least my doom scythe!!!

ohh and the reason why i was taking pictures of paper doom scythes is because i was making a template... but i eventually cut back some of the doom scythe's hull to make it thiner.

ohh i know, that's mostly what i've been basing mine off of. but insted of going all sprue i want to use some foam board too... (it's a bit easier to work with).

Don't use swiss or cheddar, use a soft, round cheese like... Gorgonzola.

This is awesome. I was actually thinking of trying the same thing once I saw the original Necron Sprue Army. Although I have to say that I love your take on stuff.

I personally don't see why you couldn't use this army in a tournament. We're encouraged to modify figures, and even model some ourselves. So by their own rules, they should accept these models. As long as you model the different weapons to look different so that WYSIWYG is valid.

To make a comment, GW says that as long as it is clear to your opponent, it is legal.

They also encourage scratch builds, so this meets both criteria.

Well sadly, I have yet to even go to a tournament. But once i get a brake from college, i'll see what i can do.

I think i'll have to pass on the cheesy idea BUT I do intend on making more necron flyers along with a few dakkajets....

Technically your troops are made out of 100% gw so I don’t see why you wouldn’t be allowed to play them as long as you had a codex lol

The vehicles on the other had might be stretching it.

are there any models, vehicles that i should make or change? I've reworked my ghost arks, but they still need some more work.

I might suggest something like this to me local gaming club, so people without armies can still play (namely me).

Would mean not having to use a friends *insert army here* as *insert different army here*.
