*OK, just a heads up, some models in this thread will be partly naked so if you dont want to see any pics of models with their breasts out please dont continue reading.*

Iv been collecting Daemons for a fair while and have managed to complete a Mono Tzeentch and Nurlge army of Daemons so far with my 1500pts of Khorne being constructed at the moment as well.
When I first began daemons I said to myself ok, Id love to be able to field a mono-god list for each god, this brings us to Slaanesh, the last of the Chaos Gods I need to get working on.

The 1500pt list I plan to build thus far for Slaanesh is as follows:

HQ
Keeper Of Secrets
Herald of Slaanesh on Chariot (2)

ELITE
Fiends (6)
Fiends (6)
Fiends (6)

TROOPS
Daemonettes (10)
Daemonettes (10)
Daemonettes (10)
Daemonettes (10)

Now, I love plastic models , but, with quite a bit of the Daemons stuff I dont like how the new plastic models look, meaning Iv been cruising about online picking up some of the last ed daemonettes.

Heres a pic for those unfamiliar with how they look. (Stole this from another dakka thread, which I believe was taken from yet another dakka thread lol.)

The other models in this list I dont like are the Keeper of Secrets (Its just..well bad) and the Fiends.

For the Keeper of Secrets I will be using this model. I will probably do some converting on it though (Not sure I like the head or weapons).
http://www.thecombatcompany.com.au/dl04-ultraforge-miniatures-pleasuredemon.asp

And for the Fiends I am thinking of making centaurish daemons from a combination of the plastic seekers and these models (which I think are released in a few weeks).
http://www.ragingheroes.com/collections/complete-collection/products/blood-vestals

The Chariots will be based off High Elf chariots and pulled by 2 of the new plastic seekers.

Now I cant show you any WIP shots of the models Im going to use because I wont have them for a few days but I do have these Daemonettes painted up which show the basic colour scheme Ill go with. (sorry its a bit blurry)

With the bases I want the models to look like their in some sort of a plain in a daemonic realm.

I want to have pale grey slate as a neutral colour with purple water and some grass.

Im not sure what colour the grass should be though, any suggestions?

If their in a daemonic real I would use dead grass, ie, yellow/brown grass. Really liking the paintjob btw!

I imagine the realm of Slaanesh to be more dreamlike and fantastical rather than a wasteland. Thats why I was thinking weird coloured grass and such.

A wasteland suits a Khorne army more so I feel.

To help you out, watch all the hell raisers, and play claive barker's video game. and there you go. I like the dreamlike idea, but just doesn't seem like it would be the case. Just because something loves pleasure doesn't mean it's world isn't a waste land. It could just be that the mind's eye is tricked into seeing something that isn't real. Kinda like the chaos powers tricking your mind into seeing something that isn't there.

Other than that one thing, seems like a great idea. I can't wait to see what you have going.

I like the whole idea of Slaanesh granting his daemons glamours to ensare their foes with illusions and such, thats why Im collecting the older metal models of daemonettes instead of the new plastic ones.

The old ones look like a glamour is being used to blur how they really look, whereas the new plastic daemonettes look like they left their glamours at home because they were in a hurry to reach a tear in reality.

Thats the reason I am hesitant about a wasteland base, I want it to reflect a glamour like the daemonettes do.

Iv been a little short on spare time lately but here is pics to give an idea of the direction I plan to go in with the Fiends.

I originally planned to do some centaur like things using seekers and the bodies of the daemonette riders but the daemonette torso is way to small compared to the body.

So I noticed a bloodletter box on my desk and canabalised it....

I'll be making the claws using a combo of the seeker large claw arms and the Bloodletter arms.

Still need to remove the saddle and blend the torso to the body. Much converting to be done yet lol.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
After hacking apart a bloodletter and a seeker I decided the centaur thing was a bit meh.
Instead Im going for something simpler and I think more effective.

I will still need to ditch the saddle and patch it up however.

I havent been particularly motived to get some 40k stuff done but I had a few models show up in the mail today so that might get me moving on this project.

Here are the modesl I got today, 4 of the old seeker models, will need to strip and clean them.

Here is the work Iv completed so far on the model Im using as a Keeper of Secrets. I think Ill need to figure out some better lighting for my pics.

Basically what I have done so far is give her a sword and loincloth thing from the DP kit and changed the position of the head to look up more. Im thinking I will add some hooked chains to the right hand.

I now have my Slaanesh models and my new paints.
These pics are just me trying to figure out how I want my Daemonettes to look and trying out some of the new paints.

Step 1: Black spray on the daemonette and a drybrush with daemonette hide.

Step 2: I drybrushed the model with Lucius Lilac, one of the new dry paints. It does indeed work well for drybrushing.

Step 3: I went over the whole model with Druchii Violet Shade. Then I watered down some of the Lucius Lilac and brushed it on the skin. Watering down the lilac makes it pretty similar to the layer paints, which is handy because the dry paints are very pale which is what I wanted for the skin. I have also painted the cloth black and painted the nipple with some Horror Pink.

Step 4: Here I have painted the eyes with white then put a little yellow glaze over the white, may go back over it as its only very slightly tinted yellow. The edges of the black have been highlighted with Eshin Grey then given a coat of Nuln Oil Shade. The Nuln oil gives the cloth a bit of a smoky look. The gold areas are Golden Griffon another of the dry paints, works really well, only one coat was needed. Lastly the metal armour bits are painted with Leadbelcher which is a nice dark metal from the base paints.

Step 5: Something I forgot earlier is the claws. The are Pallid Wych Flesh (layer paint) with a coat of Agrax Earthshade (devlan mud equivalent). The claws are then just highlighted with Pallid Wych. The gold and metal have both been given a coat of Nuln Oil. The metal I highlighted using Runefang Steel (layer) and the gold was just a touch up with Griffon Gold again. Mainly because I like the pale colour of it.

Still wondering what I'll do with the daemonettes "hair".

The gems I will probably go a red or green.

Also, does the claw look good as is? Kinda thinking I should change its colour to a more red or pink colour.

Claws sort of work. A dark scheme that would seemingly work with those nice greyscale Bloodletters you have in the other blog should they join forces. As for gems perhaps a blue.

Daemonettes Iv just grabbed from ebay.
Takes a while and they cost a bit but the models are cool.

I think on the base I'll use an emerald green grass I found on ebay, has a very intense colour so it looks a little unreal.

Today I'll play around with a colour for the "hair" and gems.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

Next steps: The hair Iv gone over with screamer pink.

Then I decided to play around with the red glaze.

I did have a bunch of pics for the next couple of stages, but the lighting was really bad, so heres the daemonette finished with a matt varnish. Just need to add grass to the base, Im thinking red.

I finished off the hair using evil sunz scarlet. The gems are painted using stegadon scale followed by sotek green with white as a highlight to make it look shiny...and gloss varnish, to make it more shiny.
