So thought id make a blog on dakka to share my up and coming brush fire modeling and painting
I was at my local game store a while ago and saw they had brushfire models and such ive been wanting to try it out for awhile now and so i checked out the rule book and loved what i saw,
i then bought what ever my game store had in stock for brushfire, and love the concept of the story and models. Lets just say im a sucker for anything with animals dressed in military suits fighting.

Sorry for the quality of my camera it was done with my phone but all the other pictures will be taken with my actual camera.

Also, do you know that one of the creators of brushfire is actually a big member here on Dakka? Cyporiean is her name.

Heres one of my test painted mouse lancers, which i think looks pretty good.

Some question i have for the rules.
When you play is it one player activates a unit then the other player does it to until all units have been activated.

And with the DE against AR
I noticed that rat raiders can take medium armor and a targe making his armor a 5 in close combat my question is if my unit only has a sword 2 DE how do i kill them i know lucky hit can do it and a crit but just wondering if thats the only way, which i kinda like it makes the game last longer it seems.

Turn order is:
Roll Initiative (Highest KE in army+ D10, winner gets first activation). Activatior picks one unit to activate (1+ models of the same type and equipment) and does everything they want to do with them. When finished, play goes to the other player who does the same. back and forth until both sides activate everything once, then Int again.. rinse repeat.

DE/AR
DE stacks against a single target during an activation, so you'll want to throw several guys at higher armored enemies

Good stuff!

You might want to get a hold of the folks at Arsenal Games in Augusta, they've got a growing Brushfire community and would probably be good rivals for tourneys.

Im having trouble making a list for my army, when i look on the forums the army list for the vandalands that someone made which said its 200 resource, but he his hamster unit cost 150 and his rat raiders are 80 and he also has other things that are like 4 Shrew Hussars, medium Armor (40/20/60) and more units liike that and it seems that it goes over the 200 unless im just reading it wrong,

There armies have so much more models then mine but when i add my resources together i have so much more then them, im thinking im doing it wrong.

In a X Resource game your going to have X FD, X GD, and X LR in most circumstances.

Vandalands armies have the rule 'Pride of the Fatherland' that allows them to exchange GD & LR for FD at a 1:1 rate. So Vandalands players will often have more troops, but they'll all have base equipment.

So in that example the player spent their base 200 FD on the Berserkers and Hussars, and then exchanged their left over GD and FD to get Raiders.

Excellent stuff - nice to see some Brushfire minis posted. Fantastic job on the badger and Moleon too. I agree that the pinkish snout works well too.

Maybe a use a bit of static grass?
You'll just need to paint it a more grey or white color.

Looks good though, and you've got one of the OOP Badgers too.

Love it! That's a killer force you've got started. Those Fox Shinobis make excellent mercenary skirmishers for Aquitar, if you've got enough gold left over.

I love gopher engineers for Aquitar. Since they can ambush, you can deliver them like little smart bombs. Just make sure not to drop them in front of chainguns, crossbows, or legionnaires or they'll get shot down before they can do any good.

If you're going up against Vandalands, you might want to find some cannons for your troops to man. The artillery works wonders against lightly armored opponents with it's blast template and secondary impact.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
