Hi, I've been playing 40k on and off since 1st edition and my interest in the hobby is actually intensifying, I was a little slack for a while but I guess sometimes our chosen hobby is seasonal (I tend to play and paint more in winter when the inky clouds roll across the bleak sky hahaha). I've recently been reading the Horus Heresy books (I'm up the the Flight Of The Eisenstein) and reliving the joys of the 1st Edition Rogue Trader rulebook which I re-purchased the other day (my original perished horribly from overuse years ago). Immensely enjoyable and a great insight into the history of the game!

I have a tendency to ramble which I will try to curtail in future posts. I'm studying illustration for the next 2 years, I also work in an office supply store and sing in a death metal band when I can make the time to do so. Other than that I paint or read.

My main force is a small (but growing!) Angels Of Absolution chapter - Azrael commander, Ezekiel librarian, 1 x Deathwing squad, Terminator Chaplain, 3 x tac squads, 1 x devestator squad, A Very Trusty Rhino (seriously, the thing has history - it once rammed a Necron Pylon.... unsuccessfully) and 3 dreadnoughts (I love my dreads, I just recently made it 3 with a Forge World Ironclad converted into a Autocannon Mortis... so tasty).

I'm building a rather large IG regiment of my own design named the 501st Nightside also - been working on them for about 8 months now, which includes 2 command HQs, 2 full infantry platoons, Storm trooper squad, 7 ogryns, 3 commissars, battle psyker squad (incomplete), 1 x heavy weapons squad, 1 x sentinel, 1 x Valkyrie, 1 x Chimaira, 2 x leman russ, 1 x Thunderer, 2 x basilisks, 1 x medusa, 1 x converted Malcador Annihilator (shop bought tank conversion) and my soon-to-be-shiny 2nd hand Shadowsword - bought her off ebay recently ,pulled her apart and painstakingly stripped her of miles of old glue and filth. Almost finished rebuilding.

Lastly, I've sneakily been buying some Nurgle figures on the side. Turns out I love Nurgle and never knew. It shall be my pet force and I shall creep out into the night to tend them lol. Anyway, thanks for your indulgence, I'll leave it there - I've been taking a few photos of the Nightside as it takes shape but I'll post them sometime in the future when I have more finished troops. Oh and I live in Melbourne, Australia.

Cheers!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

Thanks people, much appreciated! I'm not sure if I should post it here or how to link to my gallery but earlier today I put up a few photos of my Angels Of Absolution minis. A work in progress, and as I say, not sure if I should start an article about it or not. Indecision abounds!
