Thunderhawk Pilot Dropping From Orbit

Hey all,
played a game vs. aleph a few weekends ago and my opponent had 3 netrods. I did an airborne deployment with my yuan yuan merc behind his troops as they were advancing on me and was going to take them out as easy targets. However, we had questions about the Impetuous rule and whether or not it applied to netrods specifically.
I argued my merc would definitely attack them, he argued the impetuous rule would make my merc go straight for a combatant. So in the end we let a dice roll settle this and my merc went for a combatant (damn!).
Now for future reference, does anyone know for sure? The rulebook wasn't quite clear on this specific situation.
Thanks.

The Netrod, remember Impetuous dose not mean stupid. They know the Netrod is importent, so the will target it first if it's closest model. Marker are the only thing I belive, that don't count.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor. |

RAW: "When engaged in an Impetuous Order, the miniature must move directly towards the closest enemy figure"
The Netrod is a figure.
The only exception stated is that Markers (Camo, Impersonation, etc) markers are ignored.
RAI: Impetuous figures are rash and energized, but they're not suicidal and idiotic. A Netrod is clearly an enemy asset and smashing it up would make perfect sense.

Yep I agree with both. They know that the Netrod is important and needs to be destroyed ASAP.

Damn, well thanks for the replies. I gotta make sure I don't get hustled like that in the future. I still won the game anyway, btw! I'm still learning the game as well as my opponent.
