Good evening team!

Got together some friends to start a mini-league for WH40K. 1st game will probably be a 3-way squash-match between chaos, necrons, and my SM.
This match will be the catalyst that sets our armies at odds, and hopefully it will develop into a full campaign, complete with battle reps, pics, and the like. so keep your ear to the ground if you're interested.

The list, as it so stands, is pretty straightforward:

1000 points even (+ or - a meltabomb upgrade)

HQ:

-Counts as Chaplain Cassius.
--This guy is here because he's freaking mustard, and he's a bargain-- Tough, deadly, and a pretty nasty comb-flamer with hellfire shells (wounding on a 2+ IIRC). And I loathe Librarians, and psychic abilities in general honestly, so I won't be fielding one.

Whoa, no Elites. I know. I didn't even realize that until now. crazy.

Troops:

-10 man tactical squad:
--sgt will have PF
--flamer
--M/M
--rhino
Pretty straightforward, they go where they're needed.

-10 man tactical squad (combat squad-ed):
--sgt will have PF
--meltagun
--Lascannon.
--Razorback (HB)
The PFSgt will ride with the meltagun and Cassius-guy in the Razorback. So I'll have Chaplain Cassius, a combi-flame, a melta gun, and a PF jumping out of this thing.
The Lascannon and other 4 guys will camp the first backfield objective (or cover, if we play annihilation) they find and throw fire down field all day.

Fast

-Landspeeder with MM/HF
-Landspeeder with MM/HF

Heavy

-Vindicator
--HK missile
-Vindicator
--HK missile
The HK's are there to get a shot off before the Vindi's get in range. And because I had 20 points lol.

Simple strategy: Two flanks. 1 flank will have the rhino-mounted tactical squad accompanying a vindi and LS. The other LS and Vindi will accompany the razorback-mounted "Cassius and friends" while the Lascannon combat squad cover from backfield.

Hoping to bring the fight to the enemy quickly, head home early.

Thoughts, questions, criticisms, etc etc are ALL welcome. Just please don't recommend that I take a Libby, cause I won't lol. Thanks Dakkites!

what a chaplin mainly does is reroll fail to hit when you charge i would make an assault squad without jetpacks in a rhino and join him

i would have just the 10 man in the razor back with a metagun but a librarian with it even though you don't like those reason being its a support character ill leave it to you for what it has (split into 5)

the other 5 is holding an objective just keep in mind that he has 0 support and is just a 5 man squad with a heavy weapon i would give him a heavy bolter because your going to be fighting troops and leave your Sargent with them so they dont loose leadership or keep your sargent with the other guys since he has a power fist (maybe put them in a razor back as well with an assault cannon)

landspeeders they die and die and die and die and die and die and die... until 6th edition says other wise then you should have land speeders as a filler unit unless they pay a major part in something but currently they don't because if you where to use them you would go mm and mm so that they can break the biggest tanks IF THEY LIVE to get there and then die the next turn from heavy gun fire and by heavy i mean anything with a ST 4

vidicators will be shot with long range fire before it can move 6 inches they have to move 12 then sit there (if in range) then fire 1 shot its not that good unless your blood angel where you can move 12 and shoot 1

but this is all in opinion you don't have to listen to me but its just an idea

we dunno wot you been told,
our Stormboyz here are mighty bold,
we da best of da lot,
we make yins look like grots

I would keep the vindi's together on a single flank. They are easily silenced so having to protect something important from 2 is a lot scarier than one.

I love Cassius on paper. You are right, he is a bargain. Jbsnv has a good point however, he DOES have the greatest impact in dedicated CC units.

Your speeders are great.

I like the strategy in general. Lascannon combat squad holds home objective while the rest moves forward applying pressure and blasting away. Very nice.

Good luck.

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

The chaplain does need a cc unit to work. A cc unit at this cost is not really going to work.
I do like it.

I think your list is very in your face. I can see it doing ok. It is a tough points value for vanilla marines.
