you would get more bang for your buck if you picked a troop selection and went with it. at 1000 pts you dont really need anything special, but you will need to deal with dreads, maybe a pred or 2, and possibly a LR, although thats kinda a gamble taking one of those at 1k. anyway, heres a suggestion:
haemonculus w/ liquifier gun, venom blade = 65
4 incubi
venom w/ 2 sc =65
4 blaster born w/ venom, 2 SC =173
5 warriors, blaster, venom w/ dual SC = 125
5 warriors " " = 125
5 warriors " " = 125
ravager 3 lances. FF = 115
ravager 3 lances FF = 115
the haemonculus goes with the incubi. hes dirt cheap, but has 2+ poison attacks, and a decent flamer. his 4 incubi buddies should be able to muck anything MEQ or worse, and do ok vrs termies. (provided they arent the TH/SS varity - but should'nt see much of those at 1k i *think*) the real bonus is the venom. the 3 warrior squads add much needed troops, and target saturation, while providing even more splinter fire. plus they pack a blaster for tank busting or sniping infantry. the blasterborn are more for sniping at hev infantry like termies, and helping in shooting down tanks... and the ravagers are pretty self explanitory.
i would avoid charging in with your haemy and incubi. they are good in CC but not very durable, since they lack invuns. only charge them in if you need to force something off an objective, and have already dinged up the target with splinter/blaster fire first.
the strength of the list is the 5 venoms, 7 blasters and 6 lances. and with 7 vehicles on table your opponent should have a tough time taking them all down. you could always swap warriors for 5 man wych teams. dont worry about upgrades really on those, and you can do the same thing. might even fit some more in, since your saving the 45pts on blasters. maybe grab some power weapons or upgrade your haemey to have an agonizer or something.
