So I have been toying around with a no bike list with Khan. This is what I have come up with. It is a semi resemblence to a deathwing list. That is what i normally play, just wanted to try something different. It is supposed to be semi competitive, but I don't play in tournaments.

So here it is.

Khan
Libby: Terminator, SS, Avenger and Null Zone

Assault Terminators (Khan here to Outflank)
4x LC's
2x TH/SS
-Sgt TH/SS
-Crusader: MM

Assault Terms (Libby here)
4x TH/SS
-Sgt: TH/SS

Tac Squad: Plasma Cannon, Meltagun
-Sgt: PF, Combi Melta
-Rhino
Tac Squad: Plasma Cannon, Meltagun
-Sgt: PF, Combi Melta
-Rhino

Land Speeder: Typhoon, MM
Land Speeder: Typhoon, MM

Land Raider: MM (Libby and terms go here)

I have won a couple of games, but lost to a blob guard army. So many ones were rolled on my part for termie saves. What do you think of it? Its a very elite type army but its a blast to play with.

What are the benefits of khan again? The unit he is with outflanks and bikes become troops?

He gives furious charge and hit and run to the squad he joins. Its mostly for the outflank and furious for the terms that I take him.

would you be better off with either Shrike to replace khan (lose FC but gain army wide fleet) or use the BT dex?

Shrike and Khan would be very nasty.

Give all of your terminators fleet. Khan would give those termies furious charge, so you have str 5 LCs and str 9 THs? Yikes!

Or, infiltrate Shrike with assault marines and khan on a bike. Khan's bike is allowed to run in the shooting phase if I recall (and, if he can run, he can fleet, can he not?), so now you have that assaulting your opponent on turn 1. I am not sure how great it would work, but it would be fun to try out at least.

The idea is about flanking with the landraider and Terms, so Shrike doesn't do anything for me. The others terms are in the other Land Raider, so they don't need fleet either( or shouldn't )

land raider pivots gaining 1.5 inches + 12 inch move in land raider + disembark 2 inches + run d6 inches + charge 6 inches. = 22.5 - 27.5 inch threat range with Shrike included in the army

I am honestly not a fan of Shrike. This isn't really a rapid response force. So fleet really isn't important to me.

haveyou considered switching 1 of the land raiders to a redeemer. i did it in a khan list a few times last year and outflanking redeemers are a terror to behold

2000 2000 1250

Malifaux: 75 ss neverborn, 50 ss Guild.

Warmachine: 75 pts Menoth
Hordes: 65 pts trollblood

Well I don't own one of those. But I might have to try them out. I have seen them use a couple of times. They didn't do much but I am interested in them a bit.

With them outflanking they could be nice. Thanks!

np, i love seeing khan lists, i don't think he gets nearly enough love. let me see if i can dig up that list to show you, but from memory it was 2 redeemers, khan, 2 termie assault squads, 2 las/plas tac 'backs, a librarian, and i don't remember what else, but from my experience, khan can be quite the game changer.

Might be worth it to possibly take Tigurius to let you re-roll reserves

tigurius is grossly over priced alone and especially in this list which is tight for points as is.

I have to agree on Tigurius. 200+ points, 2 wounds, no invul. That is a lot of points just for re-rolling reserves and access to all psychic powers.

As for the redeemer option, I bought one solely to run with my White Scars and Khan. It is ok against orks as most things (i.e. crusader hurricane bolters) kill them without a save. However, when it rolled up on a squad of Khorne berserkers in cover, it was a glorious sight. Don't forget it still has an assault cannon and the option for the multi-melta. So, you are still dealing out some firepower. Plus, if you are outflanking it, there is a really good chance you are already up in your opponent's face where the flamestorm cannon does its work. Needless to say, I am completely sold on the Redeemer.

Your heavy support LR cannot outflank. Only dedicated transports can -- or units with combat tactics.

Just a heads up.

Right. LRR would be dedicated transport for Assault Termies.

Codex also reads one squad of termies may take LR and one squad of assault termies may take LR. So, you could theoretically have two outflanking Landraiders.

Yes I am aware. I only outflank with the crusader squad. The other one is there for fire support first couple turns while moving up.

I will have to proxy the redemmer and see how it does for me. Like I said I haven't seen it really do much, of course there is only one at my LGS.

Tigirius is not really and option. The reasons have been given. :p
