The Demolisher would be even more of a target than the Rapiers were as it'll be easier to get a shot at AND represent an even greater percentage of your anti-tank. Wouldn't it make sense to use the penal troops as little more than a screen for it? That would also have the advantage of putting the Leman Russ at the centre of a troops blob for defending rear objectives.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

This army looks very pretty. I can't quite get used to the very light grey base rims. I find myself looking at the rims instead of the models. I wonder if mid-grey would stick out less.

THAT FLAG GUY WANTS TO BE SHOT.

Which makes him perfect.

New forces inbound!

We’re running a long-form Siege of Vraks campaign at the club, and there are, predictably, more Renegade players than Krieg ones. So, I’ve assembled a load of Anvil Industry greatcoat troopers into a small infantry army!

I originally got these in a trade with a friend as valhallans, but a quick purchase from Anvil to even out numbers and replace the heads with Stahlhelm variants and they can be a pretty good stand in. I folded in a load of other spare parts too - other greatcoat bits, GW special weapons, old plastic war zone backpacks, etc etc.

The plan is to paint these really dark grey/black with contrast paints and then use them with the black Arbites vehicles. I have some spare artillery to add in too.

1 Marshall
2 Field Officers
1 Commissar
4 x Command (1 flag, 2 plasmas)
30 x Infantry (3 flamers)
20 x Grenadiers (4 plasmas, using skitarii guns as hell guns)
15 x Engineers (2 meltas, 2 demo charges)
3 x Heavy Weapon Teams (3 heavy bolters)

I think you've set yourself up well for some well-paced progress... I love your painting mounts. The models themselves came together nicely too, despite (or because of) the variety of bits you were pulling from. Great work, looking forward to paint!

Can't believe I didn't get around to updating this yet. These Kreig guys have been done for a while now and are successfully prosecuting the Vraks campaign - they're just about to reach the end of Chapter 3!! All speed-painted with one coat of contrast Black over a grey basecoat, and then details picked out in silver, gold and brown. I made the bases myself and then cast them, since I'm gonna need them for my Renegades too!

What better time than lockdown 2020 to put together all your old marines into Badab armies? Here's some Marines Errant

And, not really part of the Badab army, but a conversion I made from various Gulliman bits

Really lovely stripy marines. Especially <3 the rhinos.
