Pooh-san is an unexpected little treat. Nice work, particularly the sword. You look to have some interesting projects coming up too, looking forward to those

Pooh- san really works. Never would I have expected it to, but it did.

Awesome.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Thank you all, very much! I am glad to see the positive response to the silly old bear.

Theo, your puns are nearly un-bear-able.

Contrast is right, Cap'n. He is almost entirely done in Contrast paints.

Nev, they say it's the spice. I do jump around a lot, and I enjoy the freedom of having no one game imposing a demand on painting time, but I wonder if productivity suffers as a result. I figure the answer is to keep painting and see.

A little progress on the fire elemental. Despite washing the resin was still looking to repel paint. A little dullcote and we were back in business.

And a giant distraction appears!

Belial from Shadows of Brimstone. I had passed on this model multiple times, but my friend bought two by accident, including this already assembled version with custom wings, and seeing it in person was enough to get me to take it off his hands. They look like cut down Bloodthirster wings to me, but I could be wrong. Hope to give him a quick but adequate paint job and get back to regularly scheduled nonsense.

Thanks again and thanks for looking!

Belial looks a cool model, really imposing.

I was wondering, do you bash pooh-san’s head on the steps if you take him downstairs or has his training taught him a better way?

Gobert: At first he thought there might be, but in the end there isn't.

Thanks, aku-chan!

Flame on. Elemental is done. Sadly it won't look like this all the time, but enough of the translucency was preserved to make it pretty neat with a light behind. Fun and quick. Proper pics after varnish.

Thanks for looking!

That fire elemental is awesome. Needs a special light on him in the display cabinet . Wonder if that’d work on some of the translucent bones figures .

That looks really cool! I think you need to install a light behind wherever he’s going to be stored!

Poor Pooh, I’m sure some hunny will help with the stairs pain!

Thank you, guys!

Not a whole heap of progress. Been a long few days. Work, child illness, girl scouts, the works. But have a little more paint down. Pitt is being highlighted, kunoichi is just about ready for a wash, and a Zoat has a coat of Incubi Darkness hit with Nuln Oil. Some pics:

You always have something new and kewl. I recognized Pitt, can’t remember how long ago I read that comic. That Zoat was such an interesting model when it came out too bad GWdid not update it.

Yes! More zoat goodness! I wonder if they’ll make a re-appearance in Blackstone Fortress or Necromunda?

Pitt is coming along nicely too

I hear you YouWaShock, one colour at a time in the few minutes I can steal downstairs.

Keep up the fight.

Thank you, all.

I hear that, Cap'n.

Gobert, after they dropped the Ambull, I figure it is only a matter of time.

I went and did something foolish. Sale at Miniature Market. I bought stuff I really didn't need to. But the wife and kids are big Potter fans, so justification!

Also another Cthulhu, because sure. This one from Shadows of Brimstone. He can keep Belial company.

A project a few months late. Grabbed the Sister at WH Day, then the leg went out. Time to make it happen.

And a quick progress pic. So quick, if you blink you could miss it. A little at a time, but they are getting there.

Thanks for looking!

youwashock,

Interested in seeing how the Sister turns out. I see you have converted her to a Special Weapon sister.

Progress is good no matter how little it might be.

Miniaturemarket strikes again. I’m trying not to buy anything...for a few days at least . Though not part of the sale I saw they have that fire elemental in a yellow and I’m really tempted.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the comments.

Me, too, Cap'n. Going to try some new stuff with Contrast.

Theo, you should get him. It's a pretty cool model.

Couple quick pics of some little bits of putty.

Must address that mold line before painting. Looks a little prominent.

Thanks for looking.

Nice green stuff work. That face and the corresponding artwork is one of the pieces that got me to buy Soul Wars.

You have no idea how hard it is not to order that fire elemental right now.

Here’s hoping, I already got me an Ambull, a zoat would make a nice addition... maybe a Zobot too!?!?

Cool headswap on the sister, she looks a bit like Vasquez from Aliens... Now with added augmentation!

Thank you!

A little bit of what is going on. Primed white, then washed with Nuln Oil. The Dementor was done more selectively, as you can see, rather than all over as with the Sister.

Then I drybrushed white over the upper areas and painted the undersides black.

Then I hit him with the Black Templar. The idea is that treating the surface this way will squeeze a little more contrast out of the Contrast. I did a little of this on some areas on Pooh. I plan to paint neater white areas on the Sister for a little smoother finish, and tint the black some with the turquoise, but the Dementor is a rough model anyway so I went with just a drybrush there.

Also painted a bit of light purple around the mouth before the Templar. Afterward I painted the mouth with a blue glow and a touch of Rotting Flesh on the hands. Overall the black shows the pre-shading, but it is pretty subtle. Subtle enough that I don't know yet if it was worth it. Need to varnish, base and take real pictures. It should be more apparent with colors other than black.

Thanks for looking.

Great work.

I too think that some of the contrasts really need extra help with some undertones by preshading. It's what I did with my tree folk by hitting them with agrax before the contrast. Still playing with some other effects with the contrast paints.

Pitt is done, kunoichi is done, Dementor is done. Waiting on pics until varnish and basing are done. Started the Sister. Couple WiP headshots.

The Sister and Dementor are coming along nicely. The sisters face looks really good, I especially like the shave part of her head. How’d you do that so nicely? Was it just a blend to grey at the hairline?

Thanks, gobert!

Since she was released right around the same time as Contrast, I planned to paint her as much as I could using those paints. Her head is separate because I didn't want to get it with the dark preshading, and also so I can paint it without worrying about fiddling with surrounding areas. Painting unassembled is not something I regularly do, but with things like this or the Knights I think it is worth it. Anyway, primed white, hit the hair with a brushed white to make sure it was opaque, then hit the hair and scalp with Apothecary White. After that was dry I gave her skin a coat of Gulliman Flesh. The grey showed through just a little, so went back over it with a couple thin coats of Apothecary White, thinning it out at the edges. A few thin white highlights in the hair were next. Then a dab of Agrax in the eye sockets and across the lipline. Need to paint the eyes, wire, and plug but the head is pretty much done.

She's got a lot going on, for sure.

Pics of finished stuff. First the Dementor. Cool model, quickly painted, works well enough, I guess. Kissy-kissy in the face pic.

Up next is Pitt. Fun model. Older style, certainly, but it has that charm you see in models from 20 years ago. And there's something about the weight of a metal model and the sound it makes when it slips from your hand and bangs into your water mug.

Side view since you can't see his eyes from the front.

Third and final Kunoichi of the Oishiikage ninja clan.

And last, but not least, the Dragyri Fire Elemental.

Griffon is done, also finished a batch of rats from BONES I that I basecoated years ago. Zoat, Sister, etc. in progress.

Thanks for looking!

All turned out well, the dementor especially is nice, I like the pop of color on its base.

Pitt looks like he’s posed to fit on a 2D page, but the painting is great.

Still holding off on buying that fire elemental. We just got ALL the credit cards paid off, wife’s car isn’t paid off and I have plenty to paint for a while, but it’s tops on the buy list thanks to you.
