Those banshees came along very good, really pays off that you took your time with the bases, they contrast really great with the flesh veils (a word never meant to be exist ).

Thanks Not Online!!! It got a bit heavy on the first one I did it on, I forgot that on my Chainrasps I dotted it rather than washing it. But it came out ok and just gives some variance!

I especially like your ghostly undead and the Flayed Ones.

It's funny, I'm just about to start a Necron and some Chainwrasps myself. Synchronicity!

I'm glad you enjoyed a binge! I hope you enjoyed my growth from my wince-worthy first page.

Flesh veil! Flesh veil! Flesh veil!

School picked up the last little bit, but I managed to find time to put in the tonal scale that will underlay the purple wash on the ghost-bodies. Found some fence that I missed, so started working on that. And I started working on a couple details; one has a pale sash, another has an hourglass.

I'm glad you think that the full oxidation looks good! I admit that I panicked when I saw how much I globbed on, and I wiped a lot of it off, but I agree I think it worked out.

Thanks Captain! I think you'll be pleased with the final results:

All done! Bloody eyes, beautiful purple dark-to-white, and a light mist that still allows the base to shine. I'm very happy with these banshees!

Thanks amazingturtles. The eyes I'm still having difficulty on. I'm not sure how clear it is that they're "bleeding" from the eyes. Hard to make that clear.

youwashock wrote:Flesh-veil. Now that's grim stuff. You really went all out on these spectral nasties. Great work.

Thanks youwashock! I love this real horror-movie take on Nighthaunt, though I admit I have no idea how to deal with the horses...

Thanks RobertsMinis! I had fun painting them.

Next up: a high school teacher in dire straights!

This is him primed and washed so the details are brought out. And the details are quite good! It's almost a shame though because his mold line is gonna be very difficult to reach in some places where it dips into the details.

A bit late to the show, but great work on the ghosties! The mist hasn’t masked the bases much, so they still shine through nicely. I still love the bleeding eyes and the skin veils are creepy

I thought the thing in his left hand was a molotov, it's a fire extinguisher! Much more reasonable, but a little less "of doom!"

Thanks gobert! I'm glad the mist worked out. It's always nervewracking to start something at the end of a project that could ruin the project xD

Viterbi wrote:Finished banshees look really creepy, great job!

Thank Viterbi! Next mini should be a nice break from two units in a row of flayed flesh.

Finished jeans, boots, flesh, hair, and apron. Face is a bit out of focus but that's ok because you'll see it better once I do his glasses anyways.

Apron and flesh are contrast (2 and 1 coats, respectively), jeans are the awfully named Stegadon Scale Green and Sotek Green with a dark blue wash. They're not green. Awfully named paints. But I gotta say they're beautiful tones, and they make AMAZING blue jeans.

Thanks Not Online!!! Single coat with a lightly gray-scaled undercoat worked pretty well.

Finished Mr. Hyde here! In case anyone was wondering, he's from the zombie board game Last Night on Earth. His special abilities are he's better at fighting hordes of zombies, and he can protect Student player characters.

Front

Rear - I can see a few spots where the colour from the straps bled onto the white shirt that I missed. Might have to go back and fix that.

Bonus: scale shot with some Tactical Marines. Also highlighting (heh) that I clearly need a more matte varnish, because he looks SHINY here. It works for my Marines and Necrons, but on more naturalistic models like this it's a bit jarring!

Lol let's just say that fire is a very dangerous but very useful thing in the game if you can use it right.

gobert wrote:Nice work Gwyn. His sunglasses look really cool, as does his fire extinguisher

Thanks gobert! I'm glad those details work for you, I find details like that make or break a model.

Moving to the next, another small project. Just a really simple base.

I think this is gonna end up going with a Flesh Tearers character of some sort. Chaplain or Lieutenant likely; doesn't really fit my Librarian, Captain has a molded base, and my OldMarine characters are on smaller bases.

So far my best idea is the Indomitus Lieutenant, but maybe my Primaris Chaplain would be a better idea?
